You do not have to have a phone to have the internet and of course vice versa!

    :money:
That's true, but... what is your point?

Not many people in that situation though, are there?

either way their has to be a compromise, i guarentee if the shopping channel turn around and say sorry we are blocking the phonelines from buying and only allowing web buyers then thousands of phone buyers will be unhappy and complain!

phone buyers have to respect that way for the internet that they cannot just block internet buyers as it is not fair on them either, the same goes that it is not fair that they block the phone buyers!

the company choose to lock out the phone buyers, that is no the internet buyers fault so they do not need to punish them for it, if the phones were open at the same time as the web and an item does not drop straight to its final price which is what they mostly do for megadrops then the phonelines and the web would have enough time to be open to cope for the genuine buyers to buy, and then those who buy just because it is £1 its even stephens, they cannot just lock the web, many of the phone buyers have the access now to buy via the website, and i bet how the website works is that it is a dedicated server it connects the web buyer to, to buy the item thus a fair and even chance for all buyers, but the phone buyers do not take this into consideration and are just complaining about the internet buyers, the end result getting the web buyers locked from the system.

why can those phone buyers who complained about us web buyers not understand that we now have exactly the same right as them to complain that we can no longer get the product when in the first place phone buyers have all along been able to buy exactly the same time as the web bidders and the web bidders myself included often get a message saying unable to process your bid at this time because the item has already sold to web/phone and internet buyers!

i place this to the phone buyers that they are of course now happy as we have been blocked out despite having exactly the same chances at the same time as them to buy all along, just like who wants to be a millionarie, fastest fingers first! many many hundreds of phone buyers have the phone number for the channels prestored within their phones leaving them with only 1 number to dial and 1 number to confirm!

but i guarentee you the phone lines open exactly the same time as the web as i have rung exactly the same time as the web opens and hey presto the line is open and working!
  • if they stop me buying my £1 items online as it makes me feel they dont want me as a customer

Thing is,they don't. They can more than double their money by making you phone them.

Where do they say they are blocking internet buyers though?
  • they dont, but they are the website locks down when as megadrop is on and the odd few other products and just shows as sold out get ready for our next fantastic bargain

i think it maybe time for an email to watchdog
  • Thing is,they don't. They can more than double their money by making you phone them.

amongst of course the missing out buyers they make hundreds back on that at £1.53 per call now, it has to be the only reason they feel it necasssary to block web buyers, hence i would be happy if they charge me the £2.53 + p&p

their postage is often more than it should be, how on earth it costs them £12.99 to get 4 pillows posted to you yet £7.99 for a duvet il never know, (previous example though the pillow p+p has changed)

but they do regulary charge more to post an item to you than the true P+P pricing eg you can get a duvet /other heavy items to you cheaper than you can to get a watch/certain other items to you (not registered delivery/insured ect)

OP will never understand...and for that reason I'm out!

You're missing the point - because the web runs closer to real time than TV (digital TV in particular runs with a few second delay over "live") all the available items were going to those on the web who could order before the TV audience even saw the instruction to phone in. Because of the time delay on TV they need to lock out the web users to give phone users any chance of getting an item. They don't care if someone is using two phones - if a phone caller gets the item then they get the sale price plus the phone revenue - if a web user gets it they just get the sale price. On that basis they are not going to lock out the better customers, and clearly experience shows that allowing web ordering, does lock out the phone customers - so bye bye web customers. Company has said that how it wants to operate so get over it, move on, and seriously ---- give up buying tat off bid tv!

sorry for verification i do have to say web buyers can no longer pre bid on any megadrops item which is fair and square, yet they have to be given the same rights as a phone buyer once an item is live on air, otherwise they need to scrap the live on tv now section, something they will not do as that would permantly bar the web from any product

please understand i am with you phone buyers as well, i just feel very cheated the web buyers are being locked out from the purchase once it is live on air

i strongly feel they need to throw in the odd high priced item with low quantity and force the greedy buyers to buy at the full closing price to cancel out those people who just buy on the off chance that they are getting a £1 megadrop and then being allowed to cancel their purchase which should not be allowed! if someone buys an item (phone or web) at full price and the item closes at a higher price than they were willing to pay then it is tough, they should still get forced to pay, as unless they are very rich they are not going to be able to bid more than once on any item with the off chance it is £1 if they are not allowed to cancel their purchase should they not like the price!

even if they are rich they are not going to like the hassle of having to get the item posted to them and then get forced to pay the item close price plus the p+p to get the item to them, and then the p+p they would have to pay to get the item back to them due to it not being a faulty product!

NO BUYER PHONE NOR WEB BUYERS DESERVE MORE THAN ONE OF THE SAME MEGADROP AS THAT IS JUST BEING GREEDY

yet i note it seems like you feel it is okay for them to give out more than 1 of the same megadrop should the buyer be using a phone to call in and buy which should not be the case NO HOUSEHOLD should be entitled to the same of 1 megadrop per household I mean come on there is often 10 products of good quality out of the entire United Kingdom yet the odd 1 or 2 greedy buyers I have noticed have bought 3-4 of the same item when it has been £1

Why do I know this is the same buyer? it is kind of suspicious when out of 10 products available to buy from the whole of the uk, england, ireland, scotland, wales 4 of these go to the same area, namely perth, london, bear in mind perth is around the furthest away from their server anyone can get and this same buyer is seen buying EVEN WHEN THE WEBSITE IS LOCKED! surely this should not happen and there own conscience should tell them not to but when greed takes over!

i personally would never buy more than 1 of the same megadrop it is just highly greedy but i strongly feel i should be entitled to buy any product i wish and not just what they tell me as the item makes it to air!

Okay inevitably people from the same area will appear on items which have around 20+ in the quantity but when there is only 10 products available and 4 of those go to the same area it is kind of suspicious

The company do sell some good quality items not just tat, I mean I love watches and every watch I have purchased from them I have kept, yet should their channel not be around, their is no way I would be able to have my 1 carat diamond ingersoll watch which cost £200

nor would i have my tungsten watch which cost £100

I am happy with the products I buy and will only buy the products i wish to buy and keep, they are not bought to be sold on they are for me to enjoy and should the company wish to come to my house and check for all of my items i have purchased from them they should feel free and visit

Forgive me, I haven't read all your post.

Just picking that phrase in bold above.

Web buyers do not have to be given any rights to buy anything.

    That's it. Full stop.

They have decided how they want to sell things.

If you don't want to buy that way, there is nothing you can do.

There is nothing you can do to force anyone to sell anything to you.

when a company says they can they yes they have to!!! no ifs no buts they have to honour it,

why can you just not see i am for phone and web buyers, but we are BOTH entitled to the same way of bidding

p.s. if you are a phone bidder of theirs please read the full post, you will see the for phone bids ect, also how web bidders cannot prebid on megadrops which is fair, but just blocking the web from buying is not the way to do things

as said they have noticed these past 2 days a HUGE drop in custom since blocking their internet buyers, to the point of they may of already caused too much damage to place things right, they are struggling to sell ANYTHING
