Lloyds have been sent letters from both myself and my boyfriend (same envelope, 2 cheques, registered delivery but to the branch where the account is held)

They have until the 10th of March to respond but the cheques haven't been banked.

What do I do if I don't even get a letter telling me what charges I've had?

In complete contrast Woolwich wrote back, returning my cheque, and sent me list of charges totalling £731, which i shall now go on to claim.

Any help appreciated, I know that it must be covered here already, I've been trying to read through the stickies but embarrassed to admit I'm getting a bit bewildered by it all. :o
  • hi, sent claim letter yesterday for charges of £1507, not included interest. can i claim interest at a later date, ie if i have to prepare to go to court?

any advice would be appreciated and compliments on a brilliant site.

I am at the first stage of claiming my charges back. I sent my cheque to my bank and it was cashed on 2nd February. On 5th February I received a letter acknowledging receipt and saying they would respond within 40 days as per the Data Protection Act.

Yesterday I received a letter from my bank yesterday saying that although the 40 days were almost up they would be unable to comply with my request as this is such a high profile issue and they are unable to handle the demand.

They have stated that whilst I am within my rights to go to the Information Commissioner they they will respond as soon as they have got the data.

Looks like they are now stalling for time.

I am in the process of claiming back unfair bank charges on two accounts both with, yes, you've guessed it, Lloyds TSB. Had two of their standard delaying letters saying they 'cannot agree to cancel my charges' even though that's not what I asked them to do. I asked for refunds. The letter was 'signed' (photocopied signiture) by someone called Debbie Gilbert, Team Manager. I telephoned the number at the head of their letters and was told that Debbie Gilbert had 'been moved on', that the letters had actually been written by Michael Ardloino and that my Team Manager was Paul Goddard. The letters did not include my account numbers and they couldn't even spell my surname correctly. Gives me absolutely no confidence that they will deal with my claims professionally or that the actually know what they are doing.
I have now commenced MCOL but cannot get my forms submitted. A warning comes up saying that I have to fill in Parts. of Claim with less than 1080 characters on less than 24 lines and not using certain symbols. I called the Court Office and was told to take all symbols out of the text except commas and full stops. Despite doing this, I still cannot get the forms submitted. Have now emailed them and am awaiting their reply but would be really grateful for any advice on where I am going wrong with the forms. I think Moneysavingexpert is excellent and is rapidly becoming a daily fix for me! sorry for such a long post but I had a lot to say!

    Hi peoples,

I've just recieved my reply from Lloyds Tsb regarding claiming my bank account charges (not credit card)saying no.... but 1 paragraph I am a little worried about is this that was in the letter

"The office of fair trading has published new guidelines on credit card default charges. We're still talking it through with them, but the important point is that the guidelines are about "default charges" that people pay when they break an agreement with us. This doesn't apply to your charges as these were for dealing with your request to gi over your agreed overdraft limit. They are not default charges because you haven't broken your agreement. they are our prices for the service we provide in these situations".

I'm guessing this is all rubbish and that I should continue with my claim?

    Cheers in advance..

We are trying to use Moneyclaim to get our money back from Lloyds TSB. We have been given an address of 71 Lombard Street, London, EC 3BS as the defendent. When we input this address the site will not recognise this as a valid address.
Does anyone else have an address we could use instead please.
