I am in the process of doing a claim for myself and also helping my mam with hers. I sent LTSB the second template letter on 1st Feb for both my claim and my mam's. I received a letter from them saying no chance but my mam has had one saying they are looking into her claim and will contact her within 2 weeks. Should she accept this or send the 3rd letter saying she is going to take them to court.

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers
  • Hi there, i had a strage response from Lloyds regarding my inquiry about my bank charges, they keep sending me letters saying that they are looking into my complaint, don't remember making a complaint just requesting some info about my account, does any one know if this is just Lloyds standard practice, are they just messin' about trying to buy time.

  • This I belive is standard practice, I had the same message from MBNA and Barclays - to them this is a complaint and so delt with in that manner.

Hand delivered my charges claim letter with £2600 worth of charges inc. interest today to my local branch the chap who i gave it to didn't look to impressed when i asked if he could give me a compliments slip signed and dated to say they had recieved it.

What do i have to do after the 14 days i have given them. Is it a case of waiting for refusal and then sending a letter to notify them i will be taking them to the small claims court ?

I have two disputes with LTSB. Have written first standard letter to them and received replies saying 'they cannot agree to cancel my charges'. I haven't asked them to 'cancel' my charges, just to repay the money they have debited unlawfully from my accounts. Second letters to them have been completely ignored so tomorrow I issue my claims in the County Court. I have tried to do this online but only a handful of courts handle claims online and my local court isn't one of them. Unfortunately, I will have to post the paperwork but I will telephone the court office first just in case they have recently gone 'online'. I managed to find the forms on the net, typed in all the relevant details and printed them off. Will keep you all posted.

It could be that the direct debits were cancelled by the bank but the companies were still trying to claim hence why they went in and out the account.

Yes but wouldn't they charge him for returning the DD?

They would have charged him before they cancelled the direct debits he would have had a letter saying that they were cancelling all the direct debits. You're best bet is to look through the letters he would have rec'd as that may shed some light on this.

I have recently started proceeding to reclaim -

17.01.07 I have requested my charges - to which after 40 days they said I needed to pay £10, I have called them and said this is not acceptable time to infrom me of this and I have calculated it online (luckily i only opened it in 2002)

05.03.07 I have just printed off my 2nd letter giving them 14 days to settle up ans i have started proceedings with my boyfriend who also banked with them after the 2002 so we can calculate online :T :T :T

I will update in 14 days!!

    Hi,

I am about to send the 2nd letter to Lloyds TSB but haven't heard from them with the total amount of charges, I've heard nowt at all. In the 2nd letter I am supposed to put the total I am claiming for and provide a list, I can't do this so how do I get round this as I can only guess.

    Thanks.
