    Hi ,
Today I got a reply to my second letter which was sent to the Advice and Quality Unit-- Charges section, Third Floor, Brunswick Point,Wade lane, Leeds, LS2 8NQ, the address I was told to direct my 'complaint ' to in the first letter of reply the Yorkshire Bank sent me.
The letter 'assures ' me 'every effort is being made to bring (your) complaint to a satisfactory conclusion', but given I am not reassured, as they don't even understand/acknowledge it wasn't a complaint but only very very clearly a claim for refund of charges, should I proceed with the court claim rather than be fobbed off with their prevaricating reply?
    thanks for any help

I went with the Halifax, purely because my mortgage is with them, for their most basic bank account. I've had it six months and for that time all I had was an elctron card. After these six months I recently received my new card and it is upgraded to being a debit card, so thats handy :)

With time being of the essence I would advise just going with whoever gives you the account the quickest and a basic bank account only. They give these to all benefit claimants.
  • Hi, i have been on the phone all day and was sick of talking to idiots at the call center, so demanded to speak to someone at my branch. Within 10 minutes i had a call from my branch, another hour later they had refunded me £70! I am still changing banks though and am going to try and reclaim all my other charges over the years

Blah they still shorted you by £70 so go for it :)
  • I havbe recently been going through the processes of reclaiming bank charges of £2200 from Lloyds Tsb. I have asked for them back, but they said there charges were fair but we can have £750 for the trouble. This went straight into the bank account without them even asking if we accepted there offer.

I have since wrote back to them to tell them that we intend to carry on going for the full amount but have had no reply....

    Any thoughts????

    Thanks

Hi, I wrote the letter to Lloydstsb, letter 1 - I worked out 4 years of charges, after about 2 months I get this reply:

'Thank you for getting in touch I am sorry you are unhappy with your account charges'. - it goes on to say .....you knew about what would happen blah blah we don't hide the charges blah blah then a small sentence on the second page says 'I do hope you can see that we make our charging system as fair as possible - and why I can't cancel your charges'

ARrrggg I always have a fight and never win! Please help this is so stressful ,the charges are £3250 and I have noticed they have added more as their charges keep making me overdrawn and not covering my actual bills! its so stressful, please help me! - I just want them to get my life back on track!

Did you send the letter before action giving them 7 days? If they haven't replied to that you now need to proceed to court.

You need to send off the next letter giving them 7 days or you will take them to court.
