Hello Out There,
I'm new to this so sorry if I haven't done it correctly.
I've gone through the whole process of trying to claim £2,446.75 in bank charges back off Lloyds. I followed Martin's letters but the bank wouldn't settle.
One night, I filled out my Particulars of Claim form in on Money Claim online but unfortuantely didn't use the correct terminology that Martin suggested (D'oh!), and Lloyds have said that my defence was "vague" and "embarassing". Is this a generic response? Are they trying to put me off?
I'm worried that they won't settle my charges before my Court date of the 2nd of April.
Does anyone have any advise please?

This is common with Lloyds.

All my dealings with Lloyds over the last 15 years have been difficult. They just do things to suit themselves. I actually read all 58 pages of the Banking Code tonight just to get a head start over their staff, (don't get me started on other sites I've read up on!!). Now I'm gonna bang in a claim for all my charges to be re-funded. I know this doesn't help you much Lucyol, but just keep you head up and try again hun. Don't loose heart just try again. Lloyds are bas___ds for this.
Good Luck to both of us

Hi
Had my first rejection of a claim a few weeks back and have been too busy at work to send the next letter (will send it this week). But I have recently been hit with a further £100 charges to my account - and now 2 direct debits have been returned so they'll hit me again.
Can I add the new £100 to my claim at this stage, or do I have to stick with the figure originally claimed? I can't wait until the next charges hit me so want to get this out of the way now.
Interestingly, they've returned the direct debits after their charges took me over my overdraft limit. Is this lawful, or fair?0 -

You can add any new charges right up until you issue a court claim. Just send a new list of charges with the latest ones included. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Today received the following ' I have noted your comments but unfortunately I cannot add any further information to our previous letter or agree to your request. Since the bank's final response has been issued (march 2006) i must advise you that we will not be entering into any further correspomndence regarding the points you have raised' (jamie O'Neill assistant manager)
Is this a standard reply? Or have i ruined my chance of any payout at all now? So frustrating ... how much is it to go down the court route, does anyone know? they are relying on the fact that I probably cant afford that option.....
When I made the original request for a refund I also complained about how I had been treated at the branch, have I ruined it?
Please help... not sure what to do next - but need to strike while the iron is hot (or i get ill again)
Thanks0 -
Hi, no you can still do it, its your money after all, I am currently claiming, Lloyds seem tricky, Halifax rolled over and paid in full. Lloyds have logged a defence, if I have to go to court, so be it. the thing with the small claims court is they cant reclaim costs, therefore you cant loose. My claim is £1500, they have just logged a defence so not quite sure what happens next. I think I have to fill in a court allocation thing. Hope this helps. Oh by the way, the court charge was £120. for a calim of £450 against Halifax it was £50 which I got back. JBRebel0

Hi all, i just recieved my statements (at last) after totting it up it comes to £929. Do I now send the polite letter or, as I read somewhere, go straight for the court letter? Do I send it to the same address?
Thanks in advance, Tania xx0 -
