You've got it right with the dates, I think. Mine is 11th March and was issued 6th Feb.

Re the interest, mine says the same. Dont worry.

Thanks for the reply, I feel a bit better now :D

I'll let you know what happens.

As an aside, does anyone know why some get this £750 and others don't? Is it a regional thing, or are they just swampped with claims? I wonder....

LTSB have to be the worst out of all the banks in terms of length of claim/getting paid out from what I've read on this site.

HSBC and First Direct customers on the whole seem to get paid out at letter or phonecall stage!

    Cheers,

  • I have just had the unfortunate experience of having to contact Lloyds TSB again (that makes on average 3 times per day this week )

They say they have not received my original DPA requested dated 22nd Jan or the £10. A manager at their contact centre then put in a verbal request for me and said that £10 would come from my account.

I called again yesterday and had this confirmed. I received a letter at lunch time date stating they have received a verbal request from me and want it backed up with a written letter!!!!!!!!

I spend over 20 minutes again on the phone speaking to a manager and she has put the request through again for the statements.

    A few things came to light on this conversation;

    1. Their contact centre, don’t know the DPA procedure i.e. 40 from letter sent. The manager was adamant it was 40 days from when they cash the cheque !!! WHAT!!!!  I advised her as nice as I could they have until the 3rd march before I escalate to the info commissioner.

    2. Their staff don’t know that it is 6years for England and Wales and 5years for Scotland. They have been sending 6year statements for every request:beer:

    3. Their contact centre staff give you different info everytime you call and in some cases refuse to put you through to the "account enquiry" dept, as soon aas you say it is about DPA/statements

They have mad me mad at their lack of knowledge and customer care.
Just paid off my large mortgage 5 years early and loving it.

I'd say thats fair enough as they won't know if their customers are going through the English or Scottish court system at that stage.

I'm not sure how they work, but wouldn't the address they're posting the statements to be a give away?

Saying that, I suppose the person could have relocated to colder/warmer climates :D
  • Hi everyone,
I went overdrawn on my account for the first time since I opened it (6 years ago with Lloyds TSB) and was consequently charged for it. After arguing with the local branch of my bank and getting nowhere I have written two letters to the head office using the templates given but to no avail. Instead they have sent me a letter saying they will take me to court and another letter saying they are happy for me to contact the Omsbudsman with any complaints. I thought they would back down before now but they haven't. Are they calling my bluff? What should I do next?
Thanks in advance for your advise
  • These are standard letters as you'll see in this thread regarding Lloyds bank. You now need to send off the "letter before action" and wait to see what they reply to that one.
  • Hello,
I've never posted before, but I've been an avid reader! I followed all the instructions and sent 2 letters to Lloyds TSB and yesterday got £270 (my claim) refunded to me as 'the amount I was claiming was less than it would cost them to contest it'. It took me about 4 weeks to do and I was getting ready to fill in my small claim when I got the letter.
Thanks to everyone for posting and giving me the confidence to go for it!
    Regards
    Julie
  • Well done Julie, can you post your success here please :)
