When complaining in the first place, is it advisable to ask what their stance on this is?
This thread actually had a poll when first set up and 6 people said their accounts were closed against 22 who said not.
I don't think its advisable to change the standard letters.0 -
I sent a letter to my branck of Lloyds TSB on Januaru 17th along the with th required £10, to ask for a list of my charges so that I can claim them back, and have heard nothing from them not even an acknowledgement! Have others had the same lack of response from their banks?0

Yep same here, I sent my first one 04/01/2007 with cheque and heard nout then followed up with a copy of the same letter to the data protection address on the main site and heard nout. Its frustrating, I've just seen the phonebank number on here but with two cheques already sent for £10 each I dont now want to call. I guess as someone replied to me yesterday I need to call and follow up my letters as theres no point in duplicating, thats if I can find the number. What do you do if they just dont reply? it all seems to have stalled at the first hurdle. :mad:0 -

If the banks win this will enivatably become fair practice and lawful.
Now my question is if a claim has been made for charges prior to this, do you think the banks will pay up under the old law (Assuming they win) as this was the law at the time of the claim?
I have submitted my 1st letter on the 8th Feb requesting my charges be refunded. Wish me rapid luck!
Also some advice to others, if you have an online a/c you can check your statements for charges as far back as Jul/Aug 2002. If your sending off for statements via the bank which could take up to 40 Days dont waste time. The best, easiest and quickest solution is to apply to have your current a/c online active which should take about 7 Days. The only downside is you cant check a full 6 yrs but 5 yrs aint bad! You can then manually sift through your charges which is easy enough as it clearly states CHARGE
Hope some of you find this an easier option,
all the best

RE:- RECLAIMING BANK CHARGES
I claimed and won at the beginning of January. Claimed £700, Won £700.
Was going to close the account but then Lloyds charged me £130 on my account made up of overdraft excess fees and returned Standing order fees. I have sent the first letter the other week to claim again and will send the second letter this Friday. Has anyone reclaimed and won again?????
What are my chances?0 -
Lloyds offered me my full claim amount in a letter dated 26th Jan. I recieved letter on the 29th Jan, posted it the next day (registered Delivery). They received it at 7:30 the following morning. As of yet, the money has not been deposited in my account!! I'm startin to get wound up by them and their solicitors!!! I now have a legal contract stating that i will receive the said money + costs if signed. I've signed it, i just want my money. Can they refuse to pay up now and if they do, what can i do as regards to this contract i've signed?
Anyone help?0 -

Cheers. I posted this on another thread but it was merged in with this one, which I hadn't seen before : )0 -
I wonder if anyone can just clarify a few things for me, as I think I've made a boo boo on my Claim form.
I've sent off the full range of template letters (without response, or the fabled £750 paid into my account!) and got to the MCOL stage.
When filling in the claim, it asks for the total 'without interest' that you're claiming (which is £4,074.00 for the record).
What I'm concerned about is that whilst the text inserted in the 'Particulars of claim' box states I want to claim the £897.14 interest, the total amount claimed at the bottom of the Claim Form only amounts to the 4074 + 120 costs i.e. £4,194.00.
Have I made a mistake? or will the interest be added afterwards?
Gut feeling is I've made a rick
Lastly, My Claim was issued 05/02/07 and they Acknowledged on 13/02/07. Have I got it right in thinking that you have to allow 5 days for them to be 'served' with it, then 14 days to reply (which they have) and another 14 days for the Ack.
Is the critical date 10th March, or have I got my sums wrong?
Cheers
