I have been following other people reclaim their bank charges through the website and so I thought I would have a go at claiming mine back from Lloyds/TSB ! I was amazed when my bank charges totalled nearly £3000 from the last 6 years. Anyway I processed my first letter on 2/1/07 and the response I received back was basically get lost we are within our right to charge you, but if you would like to fill in this complaint form..... ? and so I sent the next one on 15/1/07 saying I was taking them to court. They eventually replied today ( in the meantime having filled out the court forms online) saying we will credit your account with £685.00 and wave a further amount of £65.00 of charges that was due on my account, ( the bank had messed up my direct debits after christmas and im still paying for it !) The money is now in my account although I have not agreed to this. What do I do now !!!!! Please help0

Can someone please advise on the following:-
I sent off my first letter asking for 'a comprehensive list of bank charges etc enclosing the £10 fee for statements going back over six years. I have today received a letter from Lloyds TSB thanking me for my "complaint!" They are conducting enquiries which will be completed within the next four weeks. I have not received copies of my bank statements. I thought they would just send me my statements so that i could check and calculate the fees i could claim back! I am confused! What do i do next?!!
Thanks0 -

You need to go back to them and say you will accept this amount in partial payment of your claim without prejudice but are continuing with court action.0 -

They have 40 days to send you the information under the Data Protection Act so you can't "complain" until the 40 days are up though its worth phoning them to check towards the end of the 40 days.0 -
Hi there
I have a Lloyds TSB current account and credit card account. I have charges I can claim back on both but following Martins steps, I'm not sure if I have to claim separately for the current account charges and the credit card charges. Can I put them both in the same letter??
CheersI've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.0 -
Lloyds have replied to my first letter detailing why they as a bank have to charge ! ( Cheek)
They also go on to say that they cannot agree to cancel our charges and to write back if I am not happy and hey can refer me to the Financial Ombudsman.
We are in our second month on a DMP with Payplan and they are just wacking he charges on our account. We have moved aour bank account to Alliance and Leicester back in November.
What do I do now..is it second letter or do I have to do a court thingy ?
Any advice will be so gratefully received.
Thanks
