  • Just because you have started a reclaim won't stop any bank charging you if your account isn't kept within your overdraft/cheques are returned etc.

If you end up taking this to the court stage you can add on further charges to your claim then. If it doesn't go to this stage and you get an offer you accept you can start a further reclaim but its more than likely that the bank will close your account.
  • A few questions:

Can you claim for £12 charges? or is only the £30+ ones?
Do you have to change banks after a claim? I only want to make a claim of less that £100. Lloyds have to been good to me other than a few charges!

Also for a friend: Can you claim if you have been declared bankrupt? My friend was made bankrupt in 2005 but was charged £1000's before then with Lloyds.

    Thanks

let me say what a inspiration it is to come on here and read so many sucess stories.
this is my story for years now we have been charged at the bank for failed direct debits ie only today we have been charged 105.00 as we do not have a pot of gold so we rob peter to pay paul.
im now going to send my first letter to lloyds tsb requesting charges for last 6years,will these come back as a detailed month by month charge ie jan 2002 xxx then can i add interest or will it come back as 1 total amount.
im really gunna do this as they must of had at least 5,000 out of us.
does it seem to everyone that lloyds tsb are the worst for dragging there heels on this issue

    hi there
does it seem to everyone that lloyds tsb drag there heels over this issue are they the worst offenders.
after readind all the sucess stories im gunna send off for my charges will it come in a breakdown ie jan 2003 xxx or will it be one total figure , i was thinking along the lines of interest.
to me this seems worth atempting to try and get your charges back but i never that much luck they must owe me 2500-3000 any way gunna try
  • Hi Folks
I would be grateful for your opinion of the following charges from above. Situation is i am in deep debt. Having said that I am particularly concerned abt the LLTSB situation. In january an agreement was mutually made that I paid £200 in monthly for 6 mths towards reducing a loan and o/d.

I have today received the flwg statement

    Balance at 16 Nov 2502.72 o/d
    Dec 1st Interest Chge o/d 11.21
    a/c service chge 15.00
    Jan 2nd Int Chge o/d 21.15
    o/d Excess Fee 30.00
    a/c service chge 15.00
    Jan 17thLTSB c.c paymnt 65.00
    23rd Refund 35.00-
    25thLTSB c.c.payment 32.00
    Feb 1st Interest Chge o/d 29.34
    Unpaid loan fee 25.00
    a/c service chge fee 15.00
    TOTAL 2726.42

Overdraft limit was increased by them to £2670 to cover interim charges, their words!

Queried why (a) the £25 loan fee had only been charged once, tho it hasnt been paid since Nov - told they debit charges 2 mths in arrears! (b) likewise
    the o/d exceee fee.

They are now trying to tell ne that I will have to pay another o/d excess fee as it has exceeded the new o/d limit THEY set and yet it s only their charges
    that have caused this

    Any thoughts/advice/comments gratefully appreciated
    Thks

  • Are making a reclaim? Presumably these are Lloyds charges and I've no idea if they are a rip off or not. Have a read of Martin's article and you could start a claim.

Just wanted to ask other Lloyds customers how long its taking now. I just submitted my claim online yesterday. Are Lloyds putting in a defence usually?

    Hi tiff

There doesn't seem to be any clear rule of thumb about how long each case takes.

I filed my MCOL on 7 December and I am still pusuing the case. Others that filed their MCOL at the same time as me for a similar amount have had their claims settled.

I think its best to be prepared to go all the way and if your claim is settled early then its a bonus.

I have just received a court date for late March (and thats not even for the hearing), so it can all drag on for some time.

    Good Luck

    hi everyone
took in my intial letters today requesting list of bank charges for two accounts
as i dont have a cheque book had to go in and ask the question about how to pay the 10.00 pound, the girl i spoke to said that i couldnt reclaim my charges as it was just a cash account surley a bank charge is a a bank charge anyway she took it and gave me a receipt now im counting down the 40 days, will it take that long as it seems that lloyds tsb drag there heels am i right?
    feel really optimistic about this
