Wel not exactly the same as everyone else but i setup a basic account with this bank incase my other account gets closed due to am in the courts stages with them
I just signed into online banking and noticed i had been charged £70 for a return direct debit.
I went straight on the phone to telephone banking and asked what this is for and it was partly my fault. i forgot to change my funding for paypal to my main account and wasnt enough money in my Lloyds account to cover it.
I just asked nicely if he can refund them as he knows they can do them and he put me on hold and came back saying yes i can refund them this time.
They also said they now have a new procedure for refunding bank charges.
just thought would share my story with you guys

Hi
I have recently found out you cant reclaim interest charges on your overdraft so have done a new list in the calculator because I am doing my moneyclaim application, as havnt heard from Lloyds after sending the 7 day letter. Because the figures differ from the ones I sent to Lloyds will it matter0 -
Does any one have experience with this bank, I am trying to reclaim £994 of my sons bank charges, today received a letter from them saying they cant agree to cancel the charges, they make their charging system as fair as possible blah blah blah, we are about to send letter number 3 but just wondered if anybody has had any success with Lloyds.
The prospect of this going to court is very scary!!!
Thanks,

Hi,
Please let me tell you of my tale of woe ... I am overdrawn to the tune of £6,000 this is mainly, I think, down to the steep charges that the bank has very generously handed to me. Having added all the charges together and which amounted to (£6,000!) I have sent them the first two templated letters with the info. only to be told that, and I quote: "I am sorry you are unhappy about your account charges." etc., etc.
I am more than sorry, I am desparate. If it wasn't for these charges, we wouldn't be in this situation, at least not half as bad. It seems to have snowballed. Firstly the D/D have been returned and then charges, and so on. I understand there has to charges, but it seems £6,000 in charges in 2 years, seems a little excessive.
Please can you tell me what to do. I certainly need help. I have sent the second form saying that if they do not respond I will take it to court, but that's the last thing I want to do. My business is not in great shape at the moment, so I am miserably desperate. Please can you help?
Thanking you in anticipation.0 -
Hang in there.
Read the success stories in the stickied thread at the top of this forum. I was reading through about 40 pages of them today, and not once do I think I saw anyone whose bank let them take the charge as far as court. A few gave notice of their intent to defend, and fewer still actually entered a defence before paying up at the last minute.
The banks are relying on you to lose your nerve and let it drop, that's why they use the delaying tactics they do.Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

You'll see numerous examples of people who made successful claims against Lloyds, and what stage they had to get to in order to do so.Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

I'm just embarking on doing the same for my Dad, and I'd recommend the Consumer Action Group website as they have forums for specific banks (the Lloyds one is http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/lloyds-bank/). It's reassuring to see people getting results regardless of the stalling tactics employed by the banks.
Hope it all goes well for you.0 -

Of course they are gonna say that! its to put you off.
Dont delay, if you are at the end of the 14 days of the 2nd letter then start the court process. Dont worry mate they'll soon cough, you just need to hold your nerve:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
