Stick to your timescale and when sending the "next" letter add in that you sent previous letter on such and such a date with no reply (assuming you get no reply)0

Thanks for the swift reply Edinburghlass! It does seem quite a common scenario and I was just worried it would delay my next step.
Thanks again,

This is a standard reply. You've two choices.
You can either accept what they've said and give up or you can send the second letter and be a step closer to reclaiming what's yours.0 -
Follow the steps in Martins article, and send the next letter threatening court action. Your chances of success using this method are around 99.9% positive. This would also probably be a lot quicker than using the ombudsman. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Hi,
I sent a letter to Lloyds about 3 weeks ago and had a very prompt reply from their customer services dept in Andover stating why the charge and therefore why they won't repay. I sent off a letter to them last Monday advising them that if I didn't hear back from them within 7 days I would start court proceedings using Martin's template. I've not heard anything back, shall I go ahead or would you leave it any longer?
Thanks

Once the 7 days is up and if you haven't heard fom them, then yes you go on to the next step.0
