Fortunately (and this is the only time in his life that he was sensible) the loan was covered by the insurance which, to their credit, Lloyds didn't quibble about.
Now we just have to see whether the executors can reclaim or whether you have to be the living account holder.

Well, I read his post that he said he had sent a letter saying he wasn't happy with their response to his first letter and that he would take them to court. That would make two letters so he would be fine in going ahead filing a claim. If I am wrong then I have misread. Maybe the OP could clarify?Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Hi
I just wanted to say that I posted a request yesterday for advise as Lloyds were going to defend the case, and lo and behold.
The very next day I receive a letter from the solicitors (S, C & M) offering me the full amount, almost 4K un flippin believable.
So theres hope yet for everyone else.
Hope I get the same reaction to my second claim

Hello, I wondered if anyone could help. I have gone through the recaim process and the bank have issued a defence motion and I am awaiting a court date. Can anyone tell me if they have been in this situation and what they did? Just a little worried and could do with some more info and advice? The bank is lloyds TSB.
