07 Jul 2007. I also got a letter from the Lloyds solicitors today. I am not allowed to tell you anything but they insist I am wrong but have offered to pay in full as a gesture of good will. Cliche!!! Lots of conditions attached but I am closing the account anyway. I was surprised they wrote so early. I have only just received the 28 days court notice letter. They had ages left to string this one out. Maybe they are getting the hint?
All I have to do is post the signed acceptance back and I assume the dosh is mine. More to follow...Reclaims:
Lloyds TSB: 07 Jul 2007. Lloyds just offerred to pay up in full£1000 approx. T&C attached to me accepting.
MBNA Europe: Sent ANOTHER goodwill gesture cheque for the same amount of £350. I sent back the last one for this amount. Court action started.0 -
Hi Moneysavers
I wonder if anyone can help me? Today i have recieved the famous letter offering me £750 as a goodwill gesture. Now my question is very simailar to johnynonails but i carnt find a answer to the question. I am claiming for £2140 or £2336.43 with interest, so if i fill out my mcol do i just knock the £750 of the £2336.43 or what? Sorry i just don't understand how this bit works.
Thank you for any help in advance

I am having a similar experience with MBNA right now. However, rather than keep the pathetic cheque they sent I have returned it to them telling them that I reject their gesture and consider it an insult since it did not cover the costs they owed. I prefer to keep it black and white like this. I have now taken them to court and hope to receive the FULL amount very soon. 14 Days and counting...Reclaims:

I took them to court too. They acknowledged the claim last week and today they have offered to pay out in full. The claim has only been active for 7 days. Pleasantly surprised by the speed of all this.Reclaims:

Just wanted to let you know, I ALSO got a letter offering full settlement yesterday. Wahey! I've only just sent my cheque for the AQ as well, so I'm going to call the court tomorrow and see if I can stop it - then they'll have given me £100 more than they should
FYI as to where I was in the process - had done MCOL, they defended, had it transferred to my local court. Offer came 2 days after the AQ came from the court. I never received the £750 good will gesture.
Fingers crossed the money arrives now!
I've not posted to this forum much, but have been watching it avidly for months. So thanks to everyone who's given me advice without knowing it!

Princees kez, took them about three weeks after judgement issued to send the cheque. Also received full offer yesterday on my other Lloyds case and i was just waiting for a court date!! Good luck with getting your money soon, we have been at similar stages all the way through this fiasco!0

Thank you. Was it a closed account you claimed from then, being issued with a cq ?

It was a closed business account of my partners. Been closed for approx 4 years. The odd thing is, it was closed with a rather large overdraft on it!! Through all this, it hasn`t been mentioned at all!;)Member & fundraiser for Meningitis Research Foundation0
