What do you think happened here? Don't tell me they were nice for once!

    Sorry could I ask once more whether anyone has any thoughts on this. Would it make sense to send the £10 letter or do I accept that they apparently only charged one account every time they had to return a DD and not the other? Seems a bit strange to me.

    I'm looking to reclaim some charges i've incurred from lloyds.

    i understand there are companies who will actually do all the hard work for you (they take a percentage), has anyone used any of these companies? or heard of any?

    I had a look today but felt that a lot of "fake" sites would be set up as it clearly must be an easy way to grab peoples bank details.

    What 'hard work'???

    It takes a few letters spread over a couple of months (all the template letters are in Martins article).

    If you get to court stage, all the info you need is here (including all the wording for the forms). The banks are settling in 99.9% of cases. The chances of going in front of a judge are minimal to less than minimal.

    Martin mentions a couple of companies at the bottom of his article, but he certainly doesn't recommend them (they take between 25% and 40% of your own money).

    I bank at LTSB & when i go overdrawn they charge me an
    "Unauthorised borrowing fee" This started off at £10 each day and has risen to £15 over the 4 yrs i've banked there

    Sorry for being silly but can i claim these charges back...?

    Yes, you can claim these charges. Have a look at post #4 in THIS THREAD.

    Everything you need is here. There are thousands of people here who can share their experiences and guide you through the process. You can ask as many questions as you like. Martin has laid out the process step by step. Follow each step one at a time. Why let one of these companies take a cut?

    :mad: I have just spoken to a Manager at my local branch after the second trip for my OH into town to ask for a copy (in a letter) of my son's contract and also for a copy of terms and conditions. What a cheeky git! :mad: He said that if having a copy of the contract is a court requirement the court should be requesting this and not my son. He also would not provide us with a copy of terms and conditions for a current account. He said "I am extremely concerned that you are not listening to what I am saying and this is a VERY serious matter" :mad: (like I needed telling!) "I said I am extremely concerned that you are preventing us from getting hold of information that may be required in a court of law". My OH is at the bank as we speak hopefully now getting a hold of a copy of the T&C. Sorry for the rant, feel better now.

  • Hi Kathyd,

    Is it essential to get a copy of your contract and T&C's then? From what I have read, it seems to be a bit of a task getting hold of them. Lloyds TSB seem to be one of the worst to be dealing with :(
