Ta for that...can now finish my letter!:D

Now thats interesting....I sent my letter to the Woolwich re that account a couple of weeks ago (deadline this friday!) via the "Recorded Signed for" service.....& got a nice print out off the net of the signature of the person who signed for it so I know its been delivered.....whats the difference between that & guarranteed then? (apart from the price ;) )

    TIA

I had a recorded delivery letter which was never signed for or delivered, I checked the internet site each day but it was never delivered, this is the risk with recorded.

The chances are that you may receive the letter back after 2 weeks.

I sent my first letter to the bank and the post office web site never showed it as delivered however I got the get lost letter in reply from the bank.

Question. I should be filing with the bank next week (the 28 days are up) but due to car problems etc I won't be able to aford to file until the end of June now. This won't make any difference will it?

It's totally up to you when you claim. The only slight problem will be that the 6 year period will move and you may lose charges at the other end.

I sent my claim to court last week for £1200, within 3 days i get a letter from Lloyds advising as goodwill chesture they where offering £750. Today this appered in my account! Do i now advise the court and change my claim to £550 plus costs? Has anyone been in this situation?

Every customer of Lloyds seems to get this "goodwill gesture".

You will need to write to Lloyds and say you are only accepting it in part payment and without prejudice and let the court know.
  • Do i tell them i am still chasing the remainding amount via the court? Or just advise them that i have recv £750 and that its without prejudice?

Hi - We have been claiming on two accounts (one business and one private)with LLoyds TSB since January this year. On Saturday, we received an offer from Lloyds TSB - via Sechiari, Clark and Mitchell - for just over the full amount of the claim for the private account which we have accepted, obviously! We still await to hear about the business account. We applied for online banking for the private account which was really easy to set up and you can download all statements since 16th July 2002. You can actually download statements showing just the charges which makes trawling throught them much easier. If I was you, I would apply for online banking now - you can just call up LLoyds TSB's website and all the instructions will be there and then you won't have to wait while they faff about sending you incomplete information in the hope that it will put you off. Good luck!
Please don't lose the urge to carry on - it's YOUR money that they have been taking from YOUR account without your permission!

Much appreciated however it isn't going to help.
You see I am in a lot of debt and am on a DMP.
Basically Lloyds were not happy about it and weren't willing to accept the meagre amount of money that they were being offered so they shut my account.
Without warning I might add. I had a months money go in though that was hardly anything but money all the same.
I don't have a clue what they did with it hopefully it went onto my loan but as I haven't received any correspondance from them at all since, I have no proof that the account is shut which I need for housing bebefit purposes but also I have no idea where my £42 has gone!

I actually had a feeling initially because of the lack of information on my account on the internet banking, I thought it was maybe having a turn or they were doing some kind of maintenance.
Then when I put the card in the cash machine it swallowed it.
It is rather annoying that they won't even let me see my information that was previously there. and my business!!

Personally I'd keep the original amount of the claim going just in case they don't accept your condition of part payment. If they don't remove the money you can just accept payment for the remainder when you win the case.

Changing your claim everytime they add money to your account could theoretically become a nightmare.

  • Can you kind and knowledgable people help me?

I posted my 2nd letter to LTSB 16th May (ltr before Court Action) by recorded devliery and I've been checking the Royal Mail track and trace site but it does not show as delivered.

    What do I do now?

The only thing that you can do is resend it but send it next day guarenteed, I had the same problem with a recorded delivery letter and the post office told me that they are not guarenteed to be delivered. The only thing is the cost is £4.50 per letter.

    Hope this helps.
