Just received bank charge statements and am a bit confused about the differences in charges. since 2002 i have been charged the following ranges of amounts:
o/draft excess fees £20, £40, £60, £80
unpaid s/o £30, £60, £90, £120
Does anyone know why there are varying amounts?
Can I claim all these charges back?
The total amounts are £3590 without interest and £4579.92 with interest
Thanks0 -
Hi what tends to happen is that if you are over your overdraft limit for a few days they charge you more and more eg
I had a direct debit come out of my account which left my account £2.68 over my limit so they charged me £30.00 the first day £60.00 the second and £90.00 the third and that is the maximun they can charge you in a month
Direct debit basically if you have a direct debit that gets returned three times in that month they can charge you a maximun off £105.00 this is my account of coarse everybodys will be different. Its just what happend to me it will probaly be simialar to mine most are the same. It all mounts up when you add it all up over 6 years you dont actually realise until your statements come threw how much you have paid out over the past 6 years and then it hits you.0 -

Hi, Have been trying to reclaim from tsb since Feb 07. checked my account last week and found they had transfered £750 into my account without any explanation, letter or anything! Do I write to them, or the finacial ombudsman to retrieve the rest as there is no way I'm letting the beggers off with the rest of the £1,575:00. Regards”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)

Hello All
Im at the beginning of helping my siters girlfriend reclaim her charges from Lloyds.
I understand that the OFT has ruled credit card charges above £12 are unjustified and 6years worth can be claimed back, however debit card charges are still being reviewed.
Is it likely therefor that Lloyds will instantly settle the Credit Charges (as required by OFT ruling) and refuse the debit charges?
Im thinking of leaving any debit charges for 6 months or so, to see what the OFT rules, and then claim if applicable at this stage. I dont believe girlfriends sister has many (if any) charges that go back this far.
Would it be worthwile to wait on debit, reclaim on credit?Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - 1420 Days To Go!LBM: £103,592.98 / Currently £78,500.08 - Down 24.22% / Mortgage: £92,800.00 / Loan: £17,284.21 / Overdraft: £450.09 / C/Card 0%(October 08): £5,601.54 / C/Card 0% (January 09): £1075.22 / Child Care: £137.80

Debit and credit both come under the same statutes. The OFT statement is just a recommendation, it has no basis in law. The £12 is still unlawful as it is still disproportionate.Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.0 -
I am claiming bank charges of 620 pounds on behalf of my boyfriend. He recieved a letter from TSB yesterday saying they are prepeared to repay 339 pounds in full and final settlement. The confusing thing is TSB has already credited my boyfriend's account. We have not decided whether to accept this - have they taken the decision out of our hands or can we try and get the full amount? What happens to our claim on Money Claim?
It seems to me that TSB is being cheeky!
Would be really grateful for any advice!
