I'm not scared as I know that I'm entitled to what I have asked for.
However, I am a little nervous as I don't know what to expect. Does anyone have any idea?
Have you actually checked your bank account? They seem to be in a habit of putting the money in your account without telling you.
Apologies if you have looked! If they haven't paid up - good luck with tomorrow;) .0 -
Hello,
I am writing because i am abit spectacle about all this hype regarding "claim your bank charges". I am with Lloyds Tsb and over the years they have charged me around £1400 (since 2003) for un piad direct debits and so on.
So I have a few questions: -
1) How long does the process take?
2) Does everyone get money back?
3) I have seen companys that can do this all for you, are they worth it?
4) I have two accounts with Lloyds, do I still have to open a new one?
5)Can I claim back overdraft intrest charges?
6) What about future charges on the account?
Hope someone can help and put me to rest.
Cheers0 -

4) I have two accounts with Lloyds, do I still have to open a new one? to be safe , yes with another bank .
5)Can I claim back overdraft intrest charges?only unauthorised overdraft ineterst
6) What about future charges on the account? dont push your luck

1) For me about 3 weeks for me to be able to use the money i claimed for
2) I'd say 99%
3) No, some charge 25% comission so easy and satissfying to do it yuourself, just ask...
4) Hmmm, yes, but they are unlikely to close it
5) No
6) Of course, wait till you have the initial claim monies owed first...
Ok?

So after that little bout of nervousness I got home last night to a letter from Lloyds Solicitors stating that they would pay up.
HURRAY - That's £617 back to me!
I haven't had anything in my account yet though - does anyone know how long this takes to come through?0 -

Did you see my post to you above?Thought they would pay up! Well Done! :T
I'd check it tomorrow. They seem to be taking roughly 2 days to put money in.................according to CAG site. Some have even had the money put in without any letter!!0 -
They haven't paid yet. I'll give them until Thursday then I'll be onto them!0

hello guys,
thanks for all, the advice so far
basically, i'm in the !!!!!!.
I need to send my AQ with an updated schedule of charges by the 21st(sunday), as lloyds have repaid me 2/3 of my money, and also write to my bank saying i will accept this as part payment, enclosing a new schedule of charges.
the thing is, my laptop has broken and i can't access my list of charges, so there is no way i can do the above. (don't have it printed out either.... )
i noticed on the AQ, section A that you can postpone the case for one month....does this mean if i do this it will buy me time to organise a new schedule of charges (ie laptop will be fixed by then) and i will be able to send this off to be attached to my AQ??
god i hate this!!!Saving for a deposit: £11,000 / £50,000 (22%)0 -
Hi, I'm new to the moneysavingexpert and have started to try and take action against my bank for 6 yrs of charges...BUT...As my online statements only go back 2 years, I have written to the address advised (on thread 1 of the steps to take to get your money back) to request my bank statements, and I enclosed a cheque for £10...I sent it on the 13 December, and as it is now the 16 January. I'm getting anxious as top whether or not they are going to send me them, or even if I have sent to the correct address. If it is the correct address, do I write another letter to them? Do I have to go down the route of the information commisioner? If so..how on earth do I do that? And in the meantime...what happens about my claim for charges?...I'm going to battle this to the end, but I'm worried that someone, somewhere will try and fob me off with an excuse, or make me feel that I shouldnt be doing it...So I need to make sure I've started correctly....any ideas as to what I should do now?..Do I allow them extra time because of the Christmas period?..Regards, Denise0
