If Lloyds just pop your refund into your account instead of writing to you I'd better check my balance tonight as I too received my allocation questionnaire last week!
Woohoo
Not a Newbie anymore!0 -
I am so angry with Lloyds TSB so I'm going to have a mini rant! lol
My background: I'm self employed on a low income and also receive JSA to top up my earnings until I find a decent full-time job. (All above-board and legal)
I earn about £230 a month at present (with wages and benefits included.)
At the end of November, 2 Direct Debits were due to go out but the bank stopped them as it would have meant I'd be overdrawn by £11.25.
I'm not allowed an overdraft, I've asked several times if I could have an emergency one but the answer is still no.
Anyway, 2nd January comes and I get charged £110. I was very shocked and upset by this as I really don't have that kind of money to repay. My benefit money was swallowed up by this charge and they then let out Direct Debits meaning I'm now £58.63 overdrawn!
I called up Lloyds and asked them to explain the charges. I couldn't understand why they wouldn't let the Direct Debits go out in the first place (obviously, I know I'd have been £11.25 overdrawn) yet their charges meant I was now £58.63 overdrawn and with no money cos it had been swallowed up! Effectively they wouldn't let others have their money but they wanted theirs. They also told me I was sent a letter explaining the charges - I argued that I didn't. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and accused me of lying!
They explained there was nothing they could do about it and that the charges are fair and reasonable. I was nearly bloody crying on the phone as I have huge money worries and they just seem to be helping to make it worse!
Anyway, there was nothing they could suggest apart from going into the branch to have a meeting with an account manager - and that wouldn't get my money back, they'd just "streamline" my account.....whatever that means.
I was so upset then.....now I'm plain angry!
I have absolutely no money for the next two weeks, have rent and other bills to pay. I realise it's partly my fault for not having enough money to cover the two DD's - but they could have taken one out saving me a little in charges!
Sorry, I'm going off on one a bit here lol
Anyway, I sent them a letter today because I'm reclaiming all my charges over the past 6 years. I have internet banking and all my statements were there so I know how much they owe me - £732.
If they hadn't treated me so badly I might have let them off, but not now!
It's not the first time they've treated me like this over the years.
I've been banking with them since the age of 12 - I'm now 25. That obviously counts for nothing! I realise I'm not the perfect customer and I have let things slip before but I do believe they are not helping me or my situation one single bit!
End of rant.
Sorry about that0 -
Thank you, I have already sent the 2nd letter off so waiting on a reply.
Keep you all posted

After reading through several articles on this site over the last few months I decided to reclaim all unfair bank charges from Lloyds TSB this week and had a query that someone maybe able to help me on.
After going through a financial bad patch of late I phoned the bank today to extend my overdraft to cover some DD's. I was told that this was not possible and that I still had charges of £200 outstanding which would be debited from my account at a rate of £90 per month as this was the maximum they could charge each month.
So my question is this, should I go ahead and proceed with my claim for unfair bank charges even though I'm anticipating further charges OR wait until all the charges have been applied, and then proceed with the claim?
Any help would be very much appreciated as I'm in a real mess at present.0 -
if u have sued lloyds tsb then they should not be refunding your account without agreeing a settlement or such like ......... seems to me they are trying to circumvent the judicial process ;; typical corporate crooks0

No money appeared in my account yet, oh well, I'll keep checking the balance and the post.0

You can start now and add in the anticipated figures provided that if you end up putting in a claim via MoneyClaim that those figures are totally accurate.0 -
I know this isn't strictly a Lloyds question but all my other posts are on this thread.
I'm now looking at claiming the wifes charges back from HSBC and the late payment charges on her store cards.
With the store cards am I writing to the stores that they are with or to the banks that manage those accounts?0 -

The story:
2 letters sent, Lloyds were not going to pay up, received acknowledgement of claim, then solicitors form enclosing allocation questionaire on Thursday last week, Went onto online banking Friday evening, money had been put into my account. On the same day, they also took £35 returned S/O fee, £7 Account charge and £60 Excess Fee.... Should i reclaim and should i close the bank account now?
Thanks to everyone for there help and especially Martin!!
Hey everyone.. Can someone please tell me whether i should reclaim the other charges? or is it likely they wont pay up? Also received another letter saying £120 !!!! is going to come out of my account beginning of February. As i have changed accounts no future money will go into my Lloyds account.. As long as you've not signed an agreement saying you won't claim again, you can go ahead. However, the bank is more likely to close your account if you continue to claim!0
