Thats what I thought, but didn't want to get it wrong and mess up the whole thing. Can't believe how difficult it is to

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have to actually go to court!

Reading this thread shows that its very rare when you have to go to court, I think that they are just playing for time, I'm really getting annoyed.

I keep reading the success story thread which gives us a bit of hope, its worth a read.

I also wonder this as they can pay mine into my parachute account i'd set up. I guess they pay it into the accounts your claiming for if they're active but there is no harm in asking for a form of a cheque ? They must use an alternate method of payment forpeople who are claiming against closed accounts.

i have started claim with mcol
but whilst reading through all these posts have noticed a lot of people being given £750.00 some without explanation
and some people saying they are writing to there bank thanking them for the £750 and then going on to claim the remainder
call me a cynic but if they have given you the money without explanation then surely when the claim is settled they can take it back without explanation or as a clerical error
has anyone got any views on this
    many thanks

I think the people who are receiving these 'goodwill gestures' of £750 are writing to the bank to say that they accept the payment as a partial payment and they are persuing with the claim foir the rest of the monies owed as far as I understand,

  • Hi I'm pretty new to this site and am also trying to claim charges from Lloyds TSB.

I got a reply to my first letter today, although it was after 14 days so I've already sent them the second. I'm sure you all know what it said.

Having read this thread I'm expecting to take them to court, although I do have doubts. I can't imagine someone give me over a grand back.

Is it still taking around 6 months with Lloyds? Anything else I should know that others have experienced with Lloyds?

at end of day its your grand and you have to decide whether you want it back or not? now im sure the answer is yes? if so go onto the "sucess stories" thread and read all the people who have gotten there money back. it is hard to belive but its happening.

lloyds are one of the banks to drag there feet - time scale depends on a lot of things. i sent my 1st letter around 20th March - i have just got judgement agains them yesterday as they never defended the case - so in thoery i have won - although i will only think this way once i have money in the bank.

of course it can take a few months even 6 like you said however the end result for little time (unless you become obsessed with this site like a lot of us have :rotfl: ) its defo worth it.

just go for it - nobody has "lost" as such as yet - you have nothing to lose and everybody is hear every step of the way for any advice or just encouragement you need :D
  • Hi Guys hope you can help. I have a friend who works @ Lloyds tsb bank. He works within the department to help people get back their unfair charges. I have an old LTSB bank ac and I asked my friend to check 6 years worth of statements. This he done so I then followed all the instructions on this site (claiming with interest).

Ltsb did not answer any of my letters so I went through the money claim online. They are now defending... (The Defendant disputes the whole amount you have claimed). Is this norm or should I be worried. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
  • Thanks, I've read the success stories but I guess it's hard to believe until you have the money.

I don't used my Lloyds account but despite my asking them to close it that haven't. In fact last Feb they charged me for going over an agreed OD limit (when I thought the account was closed) because they'd charged me interest on an over draft I didn't even have. To be honest I was sick of arguing and paid; now I wish I hadn't.

I'm prepared to wait, if anything it will give me pleasure for all the times they've treated me like crap and messed me around. :)
