Hi,
Sorry if anyone has replied but i cant see anything.
I was asking if i can still reclaim bank charges if my account with Lloyds TSB has been closed and sent to a debt collection agency??
Thanks

:j Lloyds TSB have paid up following second letter of complaint and notice of intent to take court action.
Even better the claim was for just under £400 and they paid £547 stating "the amount you're asking for is less than the cost we might face in dealing with your complaint if you took it any further".
Many thanks to Martin Lewis and all his excellent work on Money Saving Expert.com :T0 -
Hi, I am really nervous, I get charged up to £300 a month because of Lloydstsb, everytime I get myself out of the debt they pull me back down with their charges, it is a fierce circle and I need to take some drastic steps to get me out of this rut!!
I am going to try to reclaim my bank charges but need loads of support as I probably will bottle out!!
thanks and wish me good luck, I am sending my first letter off tomorrow!Angel

You've all really inspired me. I read through Martins article the other day (after getting £175 charge this month!) and have been back through my statements online.
Without requesting any info from them, i.e purely with online banking, I've managed to get just undr 4 1/2 years worth of charges totalling almost £950 (majority of which were from this year!!)
I'm now on a mega money saving drive so I dont get any more charges but I've already been informed of 3 unpaid DDs this month (due to them taking the £175 charge, grrr!).
Do I wait until they have taken the next batch of charges before writing to them or shall I just include them in the total claim anyway?
I've cancelled all DD except those that have to be done DD (my npower bills have to be DD to get a discount) so they have less to charge me on, just in case. I was worried about them closing the account but reading all the posts on here it doesn't seem likely they will. I dont have a loan with them anymore (paid off in June hoorah!) but do have a credit card and overdraft. The over draft will be cleared withthe re paid fines but the card wont be. Will that be in jeopardy of being closed and all outstanding monies to be repaid? I dont have £5k to hand to pay it off! This is the only thing now holding me back. I haven't got the money to file a claim but hoping I'll have enough time to find it before I need it!!!
It'll be just my luck though that mine will be the case they contest and actually take to court to put everyone else off doing it!!!! Unlikely I know but it would be just my luck!!!!!
Thanks to every single poster on here, reading through them all has really helped.

Add the recent charges in your total for the initial letter as by the time you have to list out all charges with dates etc they will have been charged.0

Thank you. I'll start editing templates!!0

I am looking for a little advice please..
Have been helping a family member claim back bank charges and we are almost there following the great advice on this site so first off a big thanks to everyone here
We have applied to reclaim from Lloyds TSB re a current account (£592) and a credit card (£160). After letter two to each we have had a letter from them offering payment of £544 for the current account but we have had a firm No from the credit card people.
Is it worth pursuing the card department on their own? Has anyone done this and been succesful? I am kind of tired of all the to-ing and fro-ing and am tempted to stop now but if I thought it was worth it I may find a second wind...
