You won't need a solicitor at this stage, just pursue the claim through moneyclaim online. I'm not sure if you'll need one if it actually gets to a formal court hearing but the bank will settle before this anyway.0 -
I just checked the status of my claim online to find that Lloyds have acknowledged my claim too and have 28 days etc.
Oh well, I'll just have to wait a bit longer for my money!0 -

moneyclaim is a goverment online version of filling in the small claim form and then gets allocated to the appropiate local court for further action.
Just remember with Lloyds they will take it all the way, you will not get anywhere unless you are prepared to initiate a small claim via moneyclaimonline, you will need to submit you claim, lloyds will state they are defending, you both fill in allocation questionnaire and then a date of hearing will be set, lloyds will settle before this date, you may need to contact the solicitors they are using to make sure as they never put it in writing when they settled mine - I just noticed it in my account.0 -

Thank you for this. I have submitted the claim throught the website. Received a court letter advising Lloyds want 28 days to defend themselves so i think this is up beginning of January. Will i need to pay a further fee for the allocation questionaire?0 -
There is a further fee for the allocation questionnaire if the claim is above a certain limit (£1500 I believe but don't quote me!)
Lloyds will state at some point they want 28 days to "try" to resolve the matter, during this time write a letter to the solicitors and send a copy to the court too for reference stating that you wish to enter conversation on settling the matter amicably and without the need for court intervention, they will ignore it but it will go in your favour with the courts.
Once the court has both allocation questionnaires back then a court date will be allocated, as this draws closer Lloyds will settle as there is no-where else left for them to run0
