Second letter giving notice of intent to take legal action ready to post.:shhh:
Has anyone had success with a claim against Lloyds TSB recently?
How likely is it that Lloyds TSB will close the account?
Seems as though we are both doing the same for our sons! However 14th day today for us and we haven't heard a dicky bird. Just getting letter ready so I can post tomorrow, registered of course;) .
It says we can send to our local branch but surely we should send it to either the HO or the branch where the account is?0 -
I've been looking on the above to doubly make sure I don't embarrass myself and send off things in the wrong order  .
They have a template for the second letter to send when you haven't had a reply after the initial 14 days from the bank. If you send this you give the banks another 14 days to respond whereby the one Martin has a template for it says 7 days. So I'm a little. Do I give them 7 days or 14 days?
Thanks.0 -
Hi, I filed my my claim against Lloyds TSB for just over £1000 via moneyclaim online on 26th November, Lloyds TSB acknowledged it on 30th November and have replied to say that they will be defending the claim, I know this is usual for them so I'm not too concerned. They have until 28th December to provide their defence. If they don't submit this by then I understand that I can ask for judgement in my favour by default. Is this the case? If I get judgement by default are they likely to pay up straight away?
Does anyone have experience of Lloyds TSB and this part of the procedure? I've looked at the CAG website and to be honest I find it quite difficult to navigate so I thought I'd ask you lovely people for advice!
I'm hoping my claim gets stuck in a backlog over Christmas so I get a nice new year bonus!:T :T :T0 -
Hi Jennie
I've moved your post over to the Lloyds thread. If you read through the posts here, you'll get an idea of how others are getting along with their claims and this bank. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Oh and another thing. I've also incurred 2 more charges this month totalling £60 . I actually spoke to the branch manager about it when I first went overdrawn and she agreed that they wouldn't penalise me but now they're written to say they're going to rob me at the end of the month!
I've actually conducted my account really well over the last year but they've decided to slap me with these charges the second I slipped up. Is there a template anywhere for a letter anywhere asking them not to take the charges whilst the matter is with the courts?0 -

From what I've read, you will almost definitely have to take them to court. I've been looking into it for a while now and it seems that once you start court action, they say that they will defend it. You'll then need to complete an allocation questionnaire and send it back. Once you've got a court date they'll pay up just before you're due to go. So no court appearance is necessary, you just need to do it all via the moneyclaim website.0

i think im being really paranoid, but i got nearly 6 years worth of statements from halifax a couple of weeks ago and Im having trouble finding ANY charges.
I know FACT ive been charges at least 4 times (not a lot i know, but still wort ha go), but I cant find any.
Has anyone else had this trouble? Could I ask The Halifax for copies of all the letters sent to me as well (ive already paid £5 for my copy statements)?
Getting really frustrated :huh:0 -

has anyone out there actually has gone to court and won????
the thought of another 100 pounds to waste scares me being close to xmas.
Take a look at the Consumer Action Group website. They have all the banks and building societies people are taking action against and there are huge amounts of money being won. It's worth registering with them as well.0
