what can you reclaim from loans? i've had a few in my time and is worth looking into it

ps, my g.dads name is joe robinson :D

We got into financial difficulties a few years ago and they separated the two loan accounts from the current account and gave us payment books for them. However, any time the loan was late in being paid they applied £30 charges therefore these are the charges I am looking to get re-imbursed for. As the TSB have failed to provide statements for these two accounts, I've made a rough guess that the charges will be in the region of £2,500 per account. (They've had since 29th January to provide the statements therefore I had no option but to do this).

    Bank Charges - MCOL – LTSB Current Account £4,603.92 / Settled £5,680.76 /Financial Ombudsman – LTSB £11,715.84
    PPI - Debenhams / Settled - £2243.20
    We're in the money!!!:T

no don't give in!!!! just think when we've got our money back we won't know how to fill our days up LOL

lol - your sooooo right - im such a computer geek now - i sit on here all the sit - does that make me sad :o

sod it im going to email watchdog - was hoping someone else would first as my claim seems to be going the normal way but reason i was going to do it was becuase i had nasty letter off them saying they'd close my account on 5the may if i didnt pay in £60 (which is what im overdrawn over my overdraft - however reason im overdrawn over my overdraft is because of charges)

my arguement is that they owe me £3200 which they took illegally from me - therefore why should i pay them money back to value of £60

what do you reckon folks - do i have a good argument??

hope i dont have to appear on the program - best start dieting now :rotfl:

well ive done it and emailed watchdog - what the heck - said the following

Im busy claim the unlawful bank charges applied to my account by the above company to the sum of £2600 plus interest. I have two points i'd like you to possibly look into.

Point 1 - Lloyds TSB seem to be the worst bank of all to get your money back - they are dragging claims on for months and months and month, unlike the likes of other banks who have the decency to get back to people and make offers and pay money back - go to https://www.moneysavingexpert.com and go to forum then claiming bank charges - then onto the lloyds tSb thread to see difficulties people are having and various lloyds tactics.

my point 2 relates to the above
i have received a letter from lloyds stating they will close my account and take legal action if i dont pay back the £60 im over drawn over my temp overdraft (of which the reason i have a temp overdraft and am over the limit is due to there unlawful charges) - i find this a bit underhand saying as they owe me £2600 PLUS interest. therefore they owe me loads more than i owe them.

Thank god for the CCCS. They saved my life. Before you start Id take a deep breath and prepare for the long haul. Its money you don’t have so don’t rely on it as it a long draw out process with TBS. Who knows you might be one of the luck ones and get paid straight away.

Would love to hear from any of the lucky ones who lloyds pay straight away :rotfl:

may give us all some hope - if they exist :D

I called my branch in Poole today to check that they had received the letter threatening to pay up or I'll take them to court. The lady from Lloyds was extremely helpful, told me my application had been logged on my acccount and the letter sent off B'ham, she has put a note in her diary to chase it and call me back with progress by Friday - sounds promising but I'll keep you updated. In another conversation I had with a branch in Glasgow (that's where I live) the girl in Lloyds told me the status of my claim (on way to B'ham) and she isn't really allowed to discuss "reclaiming" of charges but told me to keep going and the matter will be settled. I now feel confident in my claim - onwards and upwards............keep on going and don't let them grind you down. I'm just thinking of what bills I can pay off and how my quality of life will be so much better when all this is settled.:T
