I held an account with Lloyds from about 1999 til 2004 and only have very few statements. I have rang the customer service helpline and they cannot find my details, is there any way I can retrieve statements? Isn't there some legislation that states how long they must retain information?

they're trying to put you off, of course they have your information! this is the attitude of a pi***d off member of staff, saying you've sent the letter to the RIGHT BRANCH according to your sort code:

go here to find your branch http://www.lloydstsb.com/branch_locator/search.asp

if you sent to the right address then contact the financial omnibusman, see martin lewis video http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1141050760,24632,

Many thanks. Its a great feeling tellin the b@stards Im prepared to take them to court:o

ITS THE only way these tw*ts will pay up. LLoyds are just RIDICULOUS - they could save them selves a load of money (i.e. in paying interest and court costs) as most of us would settle for the charges amount or a bit less - anyway gonna stop now before i go onto my normal full RANT about them - deep breath - chill :rotfl:

Ignore this as this is the standard reply, on earlier pages in this thread someone has typed out the standard fob off letter that they send to everyone.

    Go for it.

I have now read hundreds of comments and there only appears to be Lloyds TSB who are messing people around. I was called by their collections department last night because I owe them £11 (wish I have forgotten to pay) I had a heated conversation with them explaining that they owe me thousands to be told to go to my local branch and they would give me it all back... COMPLETE RUBBISH... but I enjoyed the argument....

    Good Luck!!!

Its funny you should say you were called by the collections dept - it seems all of us are getting that call - i am £313 overdrawn (with a temp overdraft of £255) - girl asked me when i was planning on paying it upto date (funnily enough they were very nice - makes a change) i told her when Lloyds paid me back the £3200 they owe me. She said are you sure you will get the money - i said "yes - if im not ill be the only one and im sure the press and tv media would love to here about it" ;)
so i ended the call saying - "so can wwe re cap please once you pay me back my money i'll pay you back yours". Had great pleasure in doing that and she said no problem i will put a note on the account.

Has anybody else had a call from the collections dept since filing with money claim?

Missc, I have same time line as you for my claim against Lloyds, but I am doing one for my daughter (only 170 but a lot for a University student) they acknowledged the claim on the 12th April and today have entered a defence and transfered to my local court. This means they will end up paying in excess of £300 I'd imagine.
Their shareholders must be thrilled! Why did we ever bank with them???
  • I received my transfer of proceedings to leeds county court on sat, the allocation quest has been dispensed so it will be going straight to a hearing anyone at this stage yet?

Its ridiculous - i found on consumer advice web page - when you fill in your questionaire and send it back to Lloyds solicitors - try attaching the below letter (which seems a good one and may get a pay out pre court) - sorry its long winded have posted it previously but you may have missed it

    Sechiari Clark and Mitchell
    Department SO, PO Box 499
    1-5 Queens Road Quadrant
    Brighton, East Sussex
    BN1 3XJ

    Date

Reg - Name –v- Lloyds TSB Bank plc

    Claim no: xxxxxxxx

    Dear XX

With regard to the above case, I enclose a copy of my Allocation Questionnaire, which includes a request for directions, also enclosed, to be ordered requesting full disclosure within 14 days. I have submitted these documents to Huddersfield County Court today.
At present the claim stands at £XX which includes the initial claim and the court fees.

The reason for this contact is to give your client another chance to settle before additional costs are added to the claim and more of the court systems time is wasted. As I am a member of the Consumer Action Group and money saving expert , I do not know of any cases that you have actually been to court to defend.

I will be including this letter in my evidence to show that I have tried to communicate to negotiate an early settlement, and to show the judge that I believe the way you are handling these cases to be ‘An abuse of the court system process’

If you wish to contact me to arrange a settlement please contact me on xxxxxxxxx to do so.

    Yours Faithfully

Thank you I had missed it!
That would be great, and I'm sure they will defend 'our' claims soon.. I'll let you know how this one progresses

im surprised they've let it get so far for £170 (not that im saying its not a large amount but normally they like to settle claims under a grand) mines for £3200 (inc interest)- no doubt they will raise a defence soon (then again probably on the last day i.e. 2 weeks today)

    Hi,
Can anyone help - i cant find anything about this on the site but excuse me if i am just being blind. Lloyds have sent me a response to my second letter saying that because the charges they are applying are for going over my overdraft they are not 'default charges' and therefore are not covered by any guidelines - is this just flannel to put me off or has something changed?

    many thanks for any help

    Redjack

they're trying to put you off.. see! banks dont care about you, likewise with any company. what do you think of them lloyds tv ads now!??

    [off topic]
behind ANY ad or sponsor is a river of dirty money, why waste profits on sponsoring when another company will take their place if they didnt bother too! they know this!! but they'll still waste their profits. proof of overcharging!!

pitty no1 realises it, asda is OK coz they dont try to fool people into thinking their prices are lower than they actually are (example - 99p for something, or £1.99, they dont do this like car manufactures do, coz the £1 is the first thing you see, although it is 1p short of £2.. likewise with car manufactures: £6,999... proof they dont care about you, coz looks £1000 cheaper than it is, they do it to get your cash, making you believe you can afford it its disgusting.. someone high up in the company that does this are unsatisfied with a massife courporation, they want to fool you all to make more for themselvs and less for us (money)
