But as the solicitors have in fact offered you the full amount you would need to write to them and let them know that this £750 has been paid by Lloyds, sounds like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
This sounds like the norm for Lloyds TSB, can some of the information that people are writing hear not be published in the press to allow everyone to see how they treat people.
Other banks appear to be answering letters and paying out very quickly, a colleague of mine wrote one letter to Barclays and their first response was an offer of repayment. Why are Lloyds being so difficult.0 -
Started my MCOL case against Lloyds today. I am claiming £440 plus interest of £13.61 and now a court fee of £50.
Interestingly enough, I have been on the phone to Lloyds several times over the last few weeks regarding something else. I have a loan with them which is almost paid off. I have been paying religiously since March 2003 and am trying to arrange a payment holiday for my next installment as we are having a bit of a tight month. When I called I was told that they would need me to sign a form and that they would put it in the post to me that day. That was over 2 weeks ago. I called again a week later to say it hadn't arrived and they said they would send another that day. That was a week ago and it still hasn't arrived either. Could this be delaying tactics or an act of 'revenge' for claiming back my bank charges?
It is interesting also that since my first phone call 2 letters advising me of upcoming penalty charges, one statement, one credit card bill and a stack of junk mail - all from Lloyds - have all arrived. But the one thing I really want from them has apparently been sent twice but has not arrived!I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are E7760/3970. Just about to send off my first letter can anyone tell me what address to send it to? Presume its not the same one as I got my list of charges from? Is it just Lloyds TSB, PO Box 1, BX1 1LT?
Cheers!! :beer:0 -

there a nightmare - it almost makes me wish id banked with halifax as they seem to pay out no problem.
Lloyds TSb are a bunch of *#~**** idiots!!!
they drag every claim on - send out standard letters and do standard £750 offers - dont they realised everybody talks so we know the crack - sooo
They have until 24th to put in a defense with me (filed on the 5th, so 5 + 14 days = 24th) no doubt they will on the 24th at 4.59pm!!!

you send it to your local branch - however i would skip letter one and just send letter two saying if they dont pay back your charges within X amount of days then you will go to the court - will save you time and hassle as they never pay out on letters
you will get the standard reply letter saying "we are sorry your unhappy but......" EVERYBODY gets it - there playing real hard ball
i just sent 2nd letter giving them 7 days to pay back otherwise court and got the standard reply - its like they dont even read each letter they just send back a standard reply as probably 50% of people take it as being correct and dont pursue.
thats my advice based on my dealings0 -

hello
yesterday i received my second letter from Lloyds TSB
letter 1 was the standard letter about charges are justified etc etc
letter 2 was exactly the same letter but with an offer of £750
can anyone please advise me the next step as :
1. i do not want to accept this amount
2. they have yet to send me the copy statements that i requested over 7 weeks ago, just the second offer letter
hope someone can help0 -
£750 is the standard offer from Lloyds but usually after a first letter of claim goes in rather than just the letter asking for your statements. They will in fact, probably put this money into your accout and so you need to go back to them if they do and say you will accept it in part payment only and without prejudice and will be persuing them for the remainder.
As you don't have your statements yet, can you check online as I think Lloyds is one that do this?0 -
