I've just returned from the states and for everytime I've used my debit card, Lloyds TSB have charged me £1.00. Does anyone know if I can claim this back? I'm already a gold account holder which I pay for £10 per month (it gives me free AA cover, card protection, worldwide travel insurance etc) and I think this is an unfair charge. Can anyone help?0
-
No you cannot claim these as these are not penalty or default charges but service fees.
Why do you pay £10 a month for the account? Annual travel insurance costs a lot less than the £120 a year you are spending on your account charge.I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are E7760/3970. I pay £120 per year and get worldwide travel insurance for me and my partner, plus AA cover worth about £80, plus sentinel card protection, plus mobile phone insurance... I travel a lot, I've called the AA out several times, had my cards and phone stolen and it has been well worth it!0

i recently went on holiday and halifax charged me £1.50 for each transaction i only used my card twice i personaly thought it would be much more ?0

Nationwide debit card is the only one that doesnt charge per transaction abroad and also gives the best exchange rate.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

can you still get one if your credit hstory is bad tho as i heard you cant ?0

OK so I guess if you have a car then the £120 may be worth it.
I work in air travel so my travel insurance is free and I don't have a car so the AA cover wouldn't be necessary. But I do hate the way Lloyds TSB constantly try and get me to sign up for their Gold account. They can see who I work for from my salary payments!I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are E7760/3970. Hi,
I got as far as issuing the last letter before taking court action (end of February this year). Lloyds didn't bother to reply to this last chance letter and due to holidays and illness e.t.c I didn't get round to starting the court process.
Can I now go straight on to this or should I send them another last chance letter? (I'm thinking I should do this as there has been a time lag)
Will there be any problem given that I've let a few weeks go by?
The claim is for a relatively small amount £300.
Finally, I have also incurred 2 charges this month (to be taken next month) after my husband (self-employed) was paid late by a couple of customers. Can I add these on at this late time or should I just forget these?
Thanks for any advice.

I would write again and include these new charges. Although you will get the standard fob-off letter from them, you don't want to appear as though you are being unreasonable.
Write to them and give them a realistic deadline (say, 14 days) to refund you or you will take court action. And stick to YOUR deadlines, not theirs.I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are E7760/3970.
