    hi, rolowinch.

Yes, they are trying to bamboozle you, and yes, you should definately procced with your claim.

follow the link and send the letter in step 4.

I have received exactly the same letter from them today and intend to take it to the next step. from what i have read on here lloyds often settle before it actually goes to court.
Stand your ground and be fearless! dont let them bully or confuse you.

i'm only trying to claim £170, but its 170 quid that i need much more than they do.

    All the best,
    drum

Many thanks, I am going to have a look now. Good luck with yours, i will post when i find any more out.

But to do this there is around a £90 charge. She doesn't have this sort of money.

Has anyone got any ideas on the next (preferably no-cost) step to take? I have suggested another letter asking for the courtesy of a reply, but the bank will probably only just send another 'get lost' reply.

If the bank have refused/ignored you, the only way is by starting a claim. You could write letters forever and they would only take you seriously when they see the court papers.

Is there a friend/family who could lend the money for the court fee? Remember it is paid back if you win plus you get interest on the claimed amount.

  • hi
can i claim overdraft excess fees??
  • I have recieved two letters dated the same day from Lloyds tsb regarding my claim for unlawful bank charges. The first says that my case will be dealt with within 4 weeks. The second says they will not give me back my charges/money. The letter is highly ambiguous in language. I do not read that they have decided not to give me the charges back until the third paragraph of the second letter. I tried ringing them to say that I will continue with my claim a sthey have said if they do not hear from me saying I am happy with their decision by *** they will close the case. The number on the letterhead is permanently engaged.

Can anyone tell me of their recent experience with Lloyds tsb regarding this matter so that I can compare notes...

    Thanks

Got a letter regarding my bank charges:

I am sorry you are unhappy with your bank charges...like any other buisness blah blah we need to cover costs blah blah. I do hope you will see our charges are fair and thats why we are not refunding any of your charges.
If you dont agree with this information you are welcome to call me and discuss this or seek a financial obudsman service. (who??)

Im really scared now. What does this mean? Is it tactics to scare me-its working. I sent the third letter claiming £1467 on 3rd april by recorded delivery. This letter is dated the same date.
Do i need to do anything or wait the 14 days as i stated in my letter.:confused:
Proud to be dealing with my debts
    Claimed £1657 back from lloyds.
Have paid all my debt off with bank money
    (£1300 worth)

Only a £400 loan left to pay now.

It's the standard scare-tactic letter that they send to everyone. I have the very same letter right here in front of me.

Ignore what they have said and press on with the next stage.

  • I am writing on behalf of a friend who does not have internet access. I have sucessessfully claimed off NatWest. She has started the process with Lloyds and has received all the letters everyone else seems to have received (ie sod off !!) She has written to the Ombudsman and filled in their form as that is what Lloyds suggested. The question therefore is

Should she wait to hear back from the Ombudsman or go for court proceedings - please advise
