Has anyone had sucess with LloydsTSB. I have just sent off for a statement of my charges under the data protection act. I would like to know who has managed to get their charges back from Lloyds?
if you read through success stories you will read LLoyds TSB ones - nearly always go to court stage though - ive just filed with the courts yesterday for £3270.00 from LLoyds!! they try and make it really difficult0 -

Again thanks for the reply
Had a panic on when you said the above in case it was going to wrong address  but rang courts and although they couldnt confirm it as it was seen as legal advice which they cant give out she did say that it if it was the incorrect address the banks then reply to the courts and advise them where its to be sent - so panic over :rotfl:0 -

I recently followd instructions for reclaiming bank charges with co-op bank and received from two seperate accounts £5,600. However have done the same with my Yorkshire bank account and they have told me in response that they are not prepared to refund the charges on my account.
Has anyone had any dealings with Yorkshire bank? what do you suggest that I do next?
Many Thanks

I've had dealings with them but it sounds like you are further down the line than me. I wrote and asked for my charges/statements but they replied and said that they wont let me have them as the signature on my letter doesn't match the one on their file (I opened the account 19 years ago), so I've got to take some ID into the local branch. I dont work anywhere where there is a Yorkshire Bank so am going to make a special trip at some stage soon.
As for what you do next, I'd suggest doing whatever you did with your other banks to reclaim the money. It's not necessarily up to Yorkshire Bank whether they refund your charges, the courts would provide the eventual decision (if it gets that far).0 -
Hi, can anyone help me please? I am currently trying to claim back over £1000 from LLoyds TSB, i have had 2 letters from them, the 1st saying they were looking into my complaint and the second which i have just received today which says that will will not refund any monies as my charges were not default charges and that they were charges for going overdrawn, returned dds etc. Please can somebody clarify if i am able to go ahead and start the MCOL. I have read a lot of the threads and i thought that i was able to claim for these overdrawn charges etc.... Are Looyds TSB just trying to bamboozle me in the hope that i give up???
Any help would be much appreciated.0 -
hi, rolowinch.
Yes, they are trying to bamboozle you, and yes, you should definately procced with your claim.
follow the link and send the letter in step 4.

I have received exactly the same letter from them today and intend to take it to the next step. from what i have read on here lloyds often settle before it actually goes to court.
Stand your ground and be fearless! dont let them bully or confuse you.
i'm only trying to claim £170, but its 170 quid that i need much more than they do.
All the best,

Could someone help? I work with a young colleague who has been charged over £900 over the last few years by her bank. She has followed the instructions on this site to reclaim the charges from her bank and has sent the first letter; received a standard 'no way' reply from the bank, then followed this up with the second recommended letter. This was over 3 weeks ago and she has had no response. She (and I!) have looked up various bank reclaiming websites, and the advice they give is to go to raise a charge against the bank through the courts. But to do this there is around a £90 charge. She doesn't have this sort of money.
Has anyone got any ideas on the next (preferably no-cost) step to take? I have suggested another letter asking for the courtesy of a reply, but the bank will probably only just send another 'get lost' reply.
She could really do with this money back
PS She is already getting the MSE e-mails but hasn't yet joined the Forum!
Any help or advice would be appreciated
