I haven't been charged much in the way of bank charges lately so never paid any mind to this thread nor media coverage over the matter.

I have had a peek at some of the topics here and didnt realise you could claim upto 6 years ago!!!

Needless to say I have downloaded the initial request letter and will be posting it in the morning (recorded of course!).

I have some questions if anyone can help me.

    1) with LloydsTSB who is the cheque made payable to? The cheque in question being the £10 fee for the information requested.

    2) has anyone actually had their account closed with LloydsTSB specifically.
the reason I ask is that I have a loan and agree to keep the account open for the duration and dont want them closing my account and demanding the money.

oh and 3) :p does it matter that I am overdrawn with them. its not an amount I can pay back straight away. i am worried they will revoke my overdraft privaleges...

....saying that, I could claim the fees back if they do cant i??? :rotfl:

OK.. just read a load of threads on this and CAG forum.

I know the answers to them now! :D
  • hi, i am in the process of reclaiming just over £8600 in charges inc. interest from lloyds tsb. i sent them a letter before action 11 days ago giving them 7 days to respond (they haven't). i can't afford an expensive legal team like they can.I know its a lot but it was 3 different accounts, one of which was a business account which was forced to close in part because of inflexibility from them. the other two accounts went south trying to shore up the business one. they are still charging me an extortionate amount every month because i cant catch up (over £200 last month !!) I have tried explaining that if they reject a d/d for £13 it doesnt make sense to reject it and then charge me £35 because they wouldnt pay it. Sorry about the rant but i am just really sick of trying to play catch up.
Have i got a chance of winning in court against their legal team. Any advice from anyone who has been through this situation (i.e not small claims court) would be invaluable

    cheers dillon05

Why not issue your court claims as two or three seperate claims? Keep the amount of each claim under £5000 before interest, and it can be dealt with through the small claims track. This also has the bonus that if (by a very very slim chance) you lose your case. You wont have to worry about the banks costs being awarded against you. These are not normally paid with small claims.

The story: They took me almost all the way, had court date as November 9th, received a few scare tactic letters from their solicitors. Just about to submit my case to the court (two weeks before the court date) and I noticed they paid the full amount into my account, never received any letter or correspondence. Happy days.
Nice to know that someone else has taken lloyds tsb on & won:beer: was beginning to think I was out there on my own:eek: have got to the stage where I have to fill the court Questionaire in & pay the £100:mad: They have moved it to my local court & asked me if I want to delay it for a month (don't think so!!) Did you get to the questionaire/£100 stage:confused: Hope to have good news soon. Watch this space

Up to 40 days if they want to stay with the Data Protection Act, it varies even within the same bank.
