Hi, can anyone help.
First two letters requesting our charges back for 2 seperate accounts on 24th march.(Lloyds TSB). Letter was as per template and included bank account numbers. Received following , today, April 3rd:
Sorry you have a complaint blah blah, unfortunately we are unable to trace your account with the details you have provided. Please return a copy of your bank statement or full sort code and account number or details of your previous address( we have moved).
Is this a delay tactic? The L.b.a is due to go monday. What should i do? Like so many this money means alot to us(3000) over two accounts, any help from anyone we`d be very grateful.0 -
Bit of advice for Lloyds TSB customers waiting on March 01-Sep 01 statements
I rang them up today (0121 6335476) and chased them up (sent the 2nd letter to them requesting these statements on the 19th march)
woman straight away without asking any details said - they'll be out in 5 days?!?!?
asked her how she knew this without taking any of my details - she said cause we've brought in extra staff to sort this out. I then said if this is the case i posted my letter 19th - you rec the 20th so thats 10 days so could i give her the details - she said they are not taking details or dealing with seperate accounts.
I then thought "turn on the charm rather than get angry" so said to her "bet your sick of your life with all the calls etc" and was very friendly - she then said "i tell you what give me your account details and i'll pull them out seperatly and print them 1st class in the morning for you"
so id recommend people to try the nice nice approach - seems to work - probably cause they are just taking calls all day off angry people ( was worth holding the anger in lol)
JUST TO let people know - i posted the above on Thurs/Fri and received my March 01 - sep 01 statements through on Monday morning!! so it worked0 -
Anyone having trouble getting statements from Y Bank???
I have received a letter today saying that due to the high volume of enquiries they are still dealing with my request and they are aware the 40 day period is nearing the end, but I am within my right to go to the I C.
They have 13 days to go, not sure if they are stalling!
Does anyone know how to refer this to the Information Commissioner and what the procedure is?0 -
Hi, I want to reclaim my charges with Lloyds. Between myself and my husband we have 3 accounts (all with lloyds) His current, my current and our joint account. Please can someone tell me if I have to write 3 seperate letters (one for each account) to start the ball rolling or will one letter be ok if both me and hubby sign it? Also when I send the cheque of for the statement request, do I have to send £10 per account or £10 for all three??
thanks, Marie0 -
Have been a bit useless about my claim and left it ages since Lloyds turned me down (6 months ). Now I'm getting back on the case- should I contact them again or go straight to court? The amount has changed because some charges now too old, lots more new ones (Grr) and have discovered you can include interest! So anway it's a bigger amount- do I have to start again with the letters? Any help much appreciated x0

For the sake of accuracy of charges to be reclaimed and the addition of interest then yes, I would start again from the first letter and go back 6 years from today and include the latest charges. Keep to the timescales this time ... good luck0 -
For the statement request then one letter and one £10 cheque should do it, they sent mine back anyway. Once you start further action then maybe send a letter per person to avoid giving them something to stall over, Hop ehtat hepsSo far:-
HSBC £2515 incl int claimes, settled on £1998:j
Abbey - £2995 claimed, offered £1098, accepted as part payment and proceed to next stage, response not satisfactory so currently with Ombudsman
Cap 1 - settled on charge difference:j
Barclaycard - settled on charge difference:j
MBNA - 1 account settled in full, £993:beer:
- 2nd account settled on difference:T
HSBC Visa - no charges amazingly!!:rotfl:
Household Bank Visa - settled on charge difference:T
ACE catalogue - settled in full after 1 letter!!!:beer:0 -
Thanks for the advice. Possibly I will need to rephrase things a bit to explain myself- will go and have another look at the letters! cheers0

I would write to them again using the letter threatening court action and put something in your letter that since your last letter to them additional charges have occured and insterest has change - make sure you attach a copy of the interest calculator with your charges on - give them a timescale of 7 days to reply (says on this web you can dictate your own timescales) and if nothing within this time i'd go to the courts.
Lloyds dont seem to have paid up on anyone without court action - they also have a tendancy to put between 5 and 7 hundred pounds in your account as well - if they do this make sure you STATE that you have accepeted this as PART payment and NOT full settlement
good luck0 -
have my claim in with tSB - they have until 9th april before i apply to the court. No acknowledgement of letter even though i hand delivered it as yet
Can i ask because we put in the letter they have 14day- do we have to stand by this? Seems as thought TSB always go to the court stage on claims of 1grand or more and mine is 2307+ interest.
Also seems like they dont acknowledge most peoples letters anyway so would they be any the wiser they have until 9th?!????!?
as you can imagine im eager to get them lol - and know its gonna go to courst stage without he full amount offered
is it also worth ringing up manager of tsb who the letter was addressed to saying ive had nothing back as yet?
any advice would as always be gratefully received folks
Got statements online banking
1st letter sent 16th March - no reply
2nd letter sent 26th March- recieved acknowledgement letter
Im on benefits so i will go staight to the county court to file my claim on 9th April ( hopefully wont have to pay the fee)
Wil be interesting to see how we get on.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOURS0
