Hi,
I am about to put in a claim for my bank charges but i have 2 accounts with the same bank, Should i put in these clams together or should i go for one at a time??
Also i have a loan with the bank, if my bank close my account could i be expected to pay the loan in full?? The loan is over £3000 but the charges would not be more than £1000 Max.
Thanks0 -
Hi kelly
I would put your claims in seperately. we have 3 accounts with LLoyds (current account/ loan/ credit card) and are claiming on all 3 of them. The replies have all come from different departments even though we went them to the same address.
I doubt wether they would expect you to close the loan especially if you are making payments.LBM 22nd February 2007 - Amount in debt £72,242.23:confused: one month on  £63,900;) 2nd month 60,000.09

Amount Claimed: £2809.00
Court Costs: £120.00
I have today received notification that Lloyds intend to defend the whole claim and it has been transferred to my local court. I'm now getting a bit edgy. What if they go through with it - I cant afford to pay their costs if I lose.
They have gone into great detail of the costs and their leaflets that explain their costs and my agreement to these when I first joined the bank. They go on to say that I was given advance warning of these charges. What they dont say is that I tried to reason with them on several occasions to waiver these charges as I was in financial difficulty and they werent prepared to help.
Would appreciate some advise on this - cos I'm getting a bit nervous about the whole thing. I have already taken one building society to task and they paid up before it got to this stage - so this is a whole new ball game for me and makes me feel slightly edgy. :eek:0 -
hi mate
well this is the point where things get scary i guess - be brave! i have a good friend who just went through the whole process (and won) with halifax. the bank settled out of court 1 day before it was due to go to the small claims court. £2,500 or so in costs reclaimed from the bank - result.
i am just starting the process against lloyds tsb, there is another website called consumer action group which specialise in this and they may be able to offer some help - as i daresay some on this board will, too. i'll keep you posted on my progress with LTSB!Posts are not monitored but signatures are!0 -
its all scare tactics - just read around this forum - they ALWAYS say they are putting in defence and HAVE NEVER yet actually got to court on any cases
i suggest reading around the forums to gain some confidence to go ahead with it0 -
also banks are known to waiting until litterally the day your due in court before settling -0

Hi everyone,
As my user name suggests I am trying to deal with my debts.
I currently am in debt with LloydsTSB,I had two loans from them a credit card and an overdraft facility,The CAB acted on my behalf to offer token payments, which they have never replied to,the debts were passed over to a collecting agency.
Would I be able to claim my bank charges back??I must have £1000s of pounds of them,I would be able to clear some of my debt to them if I could!
I thought that I would ask before I tried, sorry if this topic is elswhere.
Thanks in advance for any help.0 -
I have a Lloyds TSB gold service current account (thinking of changing it because of the monthly charges, but that’s another story). I have never thought about other charges but, completely out of the blue I have just received a letter from them saying that they owe me an apology and £25.
It seems that in the terms and conditions I am supposed to have an interest-free zone of £100 within my overdraft and they’ve now discovered ‘we had not set this up for you so you have paid interest and charges you should not have’. They have now set it up.
To work out this grand sum of £25 it seems they have gone back through the records to March 2002 but that if I believe I have incurred charges back to February 2001, I should let them know.
I’m pretty sure they’ve checked back to February 2001 and have now worked it out correctly but I have held this account since about 1989. So why haven’t they gone further back? Is there only a legal requirement to go back six years, even if it's a case of them making a mistake in not setting up the correct system.0
