Hi all, just catching up on recent posts, especially the many about Lloyds' reluctance to offer or pay any money. I myself am at the court stage where they have acknowledged my claim and intend to defend the claim using a firm of solicitors in Brighton. There are12 days left to go and I have heard nothing from the bank....are Lloyds making a stand? or are they playing for time? I must admit, I'm a little concerned that they intend to defend my claim, Is anybody in a similar position to me? I feel a bit overwhelmed!!!!0

Hiya,
Im in exactly the same position, they have until 16th april with me. The solicitor must be the same as well, cos mines from Brighton. after reading a few threads, apparently TSB always leave it to right at the last minute, after court allocation questionnaire, and settle just days b4 going to court. so it looks like we may have to wait for a couple of weeks more for our money!0 -
Thanks Teaqueen, It's good to know other people are in a similar position...as you say we'll just have to wait a bit longer!!!0

Hi all
I am thinking about reclaming my money from lloyds not much over the years maybe £500 or a little more.
my question is if you have a loan with them what would happen in a situation like that.
I am in a similar position....I have a bank loan (2 years left on a 5 year loan) and a £1000 overdraft.
I would be claiming the full 6 years worth of charges. I'm not sure of the amount as of yet (I should have all my bank statements to add them up) but it probably will be over £1000.
If I start the claim, can they order me to pay back the overdraft & loan? I obviously do not have the money to do so.0 -
i told my nephew 2 claim just over £500, he couldnt be bothered doing it so i put him in touch with the link where u pay £50 and they do the rest. At first TSB said they owed him nothing, so we said 2 proceed through a small claims court, 3 weeks later he received a letter saying, they were not at fault but they would pay him the full amount anyway. We couldnt beleive they put it into his account straight away. Thanks for all the info thats been put on the sight0

Did someone answer Chrisb 73 and Darren as I havent been able to find one and find their question a bit worrying as it could happen to any of us who are at the first stages of claiming.0

Hi all who are wrestling with Lloyds TSB! I have submitted two MCOL claims -one for a private account and one for a business account. After my first letters to them I received the usual fob-off replies (both incidentally did not record my account numbers or get my surname right and, when I telephoned the branch that had sent the letters, I was told that the 'team leader' who wrote it didn't write it, I was given the name of the person who apparently did write it and the name of a different team leader - three different people. Not a very efficient or professional way to run a business. Anyway, for the private account I enclosed all bank statements - which, luckily, I had kept which showed the charges but, on the business account, I sent the end of year accounts from my chartered accountant showing the bank charges - these have always been good enough for the Inland Revenue so I thought they would do. All my statements for the business are, unfortunately, in France (we have a holiday home there which we intend to move to permanently at some time in the future so every time we go over there we take bits and pieces that we don't think we need to keep - we do this to make the eventual move easier!) Today I received a letter from the bank's solicitor re the business account (even they did not get my surname right, either!) and they say that 'Unless we receive a breakdown from you, giving full account details and showing each charge, what it relates to and the date levied within 7 days of the date of this letter (which gives me till Tuesday next week!), we will make an application to strike out the claim.' If I have no choice, I will have to fly to France to retrieve the statements but, of course, I would prefer not to. I intend going there at the end of May, anyway. My questions: can they make an application to strike out the claim? Can they give me just seven days in which to comply? My MCOL acknowledgment of service has given the bank until 10th April to file a defence so it seems they are dictating the time-scale here; what do others think?
I have yet to receive anything from the solicitor handling the private account claim but that should be more straighforward because I have the statements
I would be extremely grateful for some advice - thanks!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:
