i sent my 2 letters to TSB, to my local branch. Got a standard reply from the bank in Andover, Hampshire (must be a generic call centre), was really annoyed at the fact that my own bank manager didnt reply, bank that likes to say no...

I sent off 2 letters asking for my statements on the 2nd march, have just recieved them today going back to sept 01. Had a covering letter which to me actually sounds quite positive it reads
    Dear ME

I refer to your recent request for copies of statements on your account to enable you to reconcile your bank charges. Please find enclosed details of charges going back to the date you opened your account,or 1st sept 01,whichever date is the most recent. If there are no charges for a certian period then charging details will not be included.
You may now wish to proceed with your claim for reimbursement of charges but,if you do feel you need further statements, this will take longer to acess our archived data. Please let me know by returning this letter in the attached per-paid envelope and I will order them for you.
Under the DPA we are allowed up to 40 days to fulful your request.

Has anyone else recieved a letter like this one cause to me they seem to be quite helpful , do you think its just a tactic to keep me off guard or does it sound like l have a real chance.
Mind on 1 account the charges total £2150.00 , couldn`t believe it !!! they might not be as nice once l give them the letter asking for the money back !!!

I got exactly the same cover letter last week and was also surprised how helpful it seemed. I think that I've now replied with a claim for £915 their next letter might not be quite so helpful :rotfl:
  • Just recieved a reply from Lloyds Tsb giving me the fob off and saying how my charges arent charges blah blah blah! Has anyone else had this letter?? Just going to send off my second letter now giving them 7 days.

    Wish me luck:beer:

its a standard letter, i wouldnt bother waiting for a reply, go straight to court and start a claim. TSb leave it right upuntil going to court, could be 2months off yet...

Aye its a standard Lloyds letter - i sent it back off saying i wanted march 01-sep 01 by 30th of march (which is 40 days from original letter sent 19th feb) and if they didnt id be advising the Information Commissioner as they did not fulfill my original request therefore cannt take a further 40 days (im still waiting) however have start ball rolling for my claim as like your self mine was £2307 + interest - i did state in my letter i would be claiming further charges from april01-sep01 once i had statements and any offers made would be seem as a partical payment.

also in reply to other post
    Address for statement request is
    Copy Statement Unit
    Swallow House
    10 Swallow Street
    Birmingham
    B1 2AL
    t- 0121 633 5476

IF ITS FOR your letter asking for money back - you send that to your local branch (make sure its sent recorded)

it doesnt matter which branch you send your claim to. I sent mine to my local branch, but got a reply from Andover, Hampshire. I would send it recorded delivery, and letters etc should always be sent recorded del.

  • Hi all
I am thinking about reclaming my money from lloyds not much over the years maybe £500 or a little more.
my question is if you have a loan with them what would happen in a situation like that.i am so fed up with them.the latest is that they are going to charge me £60 for going overdrawn by just £4.13.
