  • I've claimed bank charges from my bank (Yorkshire Bank), but as you advised in the TV program shown a few weeks ago that the bank may refuse. Well my bank have and they have decided to defend their case, I thought you may be interested as you said that no Bank has yet taken it all the way to court. Is there any other advise you can give me at this point of the proceedings
  • I am Trying to reclaim from Lloyds TSB Plat credit card.

No response to LBA letter so i filed a court claim, which has not yet been acknowledged.

I get home to the following letter -

Whilst our opinion regarding our charging policy has not changed, we are prepared to reduce all of the past 19 charges that you have disputed from xxxxxx to xxxxxx inclusive to £12, in an effort to bring this matter to a mutally satisfactory conclusion. This will result in a refund of £xxx by cheque. I am also prepared to refund 8% interest on this total, making a total refund of £XXX.

If you are willing to accept this offer in full and final settlement of your complaint please sign and return the enclosed acceptance letter in the pre-paid envelope provided. I will then arrange for the cheque to be sent. The Bank's offer is made in full and final settlement of your concerns and is available for you to accept until 26 April.

This letter is the bank's final response....blah, blah, blah

What should I do - its not an offer I want to accept - do i just respond saying no, or do i say I've already lodged a claim?

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

if its been four weeks and no contact i would send the 2nd letter threatening court action if you have no reply to this letter within 14 days. I would send it recorded delivery to your local branch - if you hear nothing within the 14days then proceed to the court stage.

I sent off 2 letters asking for my statements on the 2nd march, have just recieved them today going back to sept 01. Had a covering letter which to me actually sounds quite positive it reads
    Dear ME

I refer to your recent request for copies of statements on your account to enable you to reconcile your bank charges. Please find enclosed details of charges going back to the date you opened your account,or 1st sept 01,whichever date is the most recent. If there are no charges for a certian period then charging details will not be included.
You may now wish to proceed with your claim for reimbursement of charges but,if you do feel you need further statements, this will take longer to acess our archived data. Please let me know by returning this letter in the attached per-paid envelope and I will order them for you.
Under the DPA we are allowed up to 40 days to fulful your request.

Has anyone else recieved a letter like this one cause to me they seem to be quite helpful , do you think its just a tactic to keep me off guard or does it sound like l have a real chance.
Mind on 1 account the charges total £2150.00 , couldn`t believe it !!! they might not be as nice once l give them the letter asking for the money back !!!
  • Yesterday i posted the 1st letter to claim back charges for the last 6 years to lloyds tsb for my personal account. I have read in the papers today that time may be limited for us to do this and talked hubby into letting me claim for our joint account,(in the post tomorrow). I noticed that i sent my letter to the customer services dept(not local). Is it best to send the request to our local office. Have I boobed aready ?? :
