Hi,
I took MIL letter into my local branch this morning and they took it off me and I asked for a reciept and she looked at me like id grown another head then went over to another member of staff and asked her if they do reciepts..she looked puzzled too and said 'we don't issue reciepts here' in her poshest voice. I said it wasn't my letter and the person who asked me to bring it in wanted to make sure it was recieved. She said tell her not to worry,it will get where it's supposed to go and she bloody well opened it and read it infront of me. Then her attitude seemed to change with me and she told me again that no reciepts are given out.
I left it with her as I was late for an appointment elsewhere, didn't want to make a big scene (bank was busy) and MIL is abit desperate to get this claim started. Have I done the right thing? Im worried now,as it's not my claim!
C@ck up no2 is that I forgot to get it signed before I put it into the envelope!
Oh says it won't matter as it has her full name, account number and address all on the letter so they'll know its her. Is this ok or should I re do the whole letter,or wait and see if she gets a response 1st?
Thanks for any help,
Helen xlove my little man he is amazing :j0 -

Yes, be interesting to see who gets a reply first,as we have gone different routes (oh god I do really hope it gets to where its supposed to!)
Its not my claim,it's for my MIL, £1700(inc interest) I got my money back from the halifax last week :j
Snowchick..I don't know which add you should send to as in my case,my MIL already had her statements as she is a hoarder lol. Couldn't you go into your local branch with it? Im sure someone who knows what there talking about will post with help for you. Good luck.

Hi Snowchick, I sent my first request about a month ago and had heard nothing back so went into my branch last Friday. The girl in there was very helpful and told me they've been advised to tell people the address for all claims is:
LloydsTSB
125 Colmore Row
Birmingham
B3 3SF
She even wished me luck with my claim.
I posted quite a forceful letter to that address yesterday complaining about the delay. However, this morning I've received a list of charges (obviously in reply to my initial request). The cover letter on these charges contains the words 'You may now wish to proceed with your claim for reimbursement of charges.' Damn right I do!
A nice little bonus was that I forgot to put the cheque in with my request but the letter states 'The fee of £10 for this service has been taken accordingly.' :rotfl:0 -
Hi I sent off 1st letter to my local branch requesting my statements three weeks ago, they have not yet acknowleged my letter or cashed my ten pound cheque. I have however retrieved four and a half years of statements through internet banking, and have wrote to my local branch again asking for my £896 back only this time i sent it recorded delivery on 22nd march, but reading through some of the threads i am begining to wonder if i have done the right thing by sending letters off to my branch as there appears to be some confusion as to where we send our letters to so i am going to go into my branch tomorrow and ask if they are dealing with my request or if they have forewarded it to somewhere else. i will also tell them that if they have forewarded it on to someone else i intend on sticking to my timescale as i feel i should have had a phone call or letter from them stating that they werent dealing directly with it, after all someone at the branch would have opned my letter and the first thing they would have read is my address and phone number so at the very least they should let me know. got to say i had a good giggle at helens post earlier, i would love to have been their when they opened the letter in front or her, it is without a dowt the funniest thing i have read so far.0

My story so far- what happens next???
back in november i sent my 10 cheque requesting my statements for the last 6 year, i got the first 3 years with a letter saying the rest would shortly follow, 2 weeks later i recieved a note from royal mail asking me to collect a letter that had not been paid for, yorkshire had sent the envelope with my statements in without a stamp i had to pay just short of 4 quid to retrieve it. I had 2600 pounds worth of charges to claim back , i sent all martins template letters off and recieved all the usuall letters from the bank, i then recieved a letter saying that they needed 4 weeks to investigate the claim, i stupidly gave them the 4 week, after no reply from them after 4 week i sent the letter thretning court action, i then recieved a cheque for 937, which i sent straight back, I then filed my claim online the bank are defending there claim and it is the same solicitor as others (mrs ross), on the 4th april there 28 days will be up. I have not heard anything else so far, do i just wait? what happens if they do not reply within 28 days do i still have to go to court, and also can they stall long enough for the financial obusman ruling to come in, i have been told if this happens i will only be able to claim back 12 pound of every charge is this true, any advice anyone , thanks0 -
Hi all
Been off the scene for a while what with one thing and another, more money matters to sort etc. Just wondering whats best to do with my claim??
I have had 2 bank accounts, on the Classic account Lloyds TSB owe me
£7707.04
and on the Business account Lloyds TSB owe me
£4571.62
Through the court it will cost £370 to claim separately or just £250 as a combined claim.
Does anyone know which I'll have more success with? Obviously I want the best chance of success but not sure how to go about it
Thanks0
