  • Hi
I had an account some yrs ago, I closed it in around 1997/98. My original account was with a branch in London and I moved it to my home town branch.
The branch Known then just as TSB has now closed down. (I gather the Llodys branch here has now taken over)
Now, I phoned around to try and track down my account and get some details (luckly I had my account number from a child benefit letter) but no sort code number but I thought it wouldnt be too difficult to track down since I had my account number. They were going to get back to me on Friday which of course they havent so am going to ring again tomorrow.
Is it this difficult to track down an old account..?

    Hi,
I've sent my letter asking for £530 of charges back. 7 days later I received a letter saying they have received my comlaint ....... we expect our enquiries to completed within the next four weeks, etc.
I dont understand why I've received this letter as I have only asked that my charges be refunded.
Should I wait the 4 weeks or should I get on and send the next letter as I don't beleive it should take 4 weeks?
    Thanks for any help.
    Louise

If it was the one to get your statements you should wait til 12th April.
  • Having claimed £1807 in banking charges, my bank has refused to refund and to provide a breakdown of how the "service charges" are arrived at. They have offered to provide details of the Financial Ombudsman Service to consider my complaint independently "if we cannot come to an agreement". Does anyone know whether this should be considered before issuing a claim in the Small Claims Court or is it the bank playing games?

    Hi,

Im helping my MIL claim from TSB, our local tsb is only over the road from the post office so it would be abit stupid to go post it recorded delivery..might aswell just go into the bank to deliver it but can anyone advise what to say please? Ask them to forward it on to complaints depatment or claims department? Or something else? Will they give me a reciept?

Ask them for a receipt that they have received the letter and for it to be dated.

The second letter (14 day, the first to ask for a full refund of charges) should be going to the manager at the branch where the account is held.

All SARs should be sent to the Copy Stements Unit in B'ham.

Hi folks, well done to Mal1, it's reassuring to hear of more success's. I've recently joined this forum and am in the process of reclaiming charges. I have gave the bank 14 day's as per letter template,( but never sure if 14 working day's so have given them the benefit of the doubt). Haven't heard a thing, have checked with LLoyds that I've sent it to the right address. They gave me Customer Service Recovery Centre, 125 Colmore Row, Birmingham, B3 3SSF as the address.

So i'm sending the next letter stating i'm going to make a court claim if i don't hear from them in 7 day's( working day's?).

After this i understand i have a choice of writing again saying i am prepared to negotiate the charges or complete a claim form on line.

I think i understand what i'm doing but if you know better please let me know.

Non essential spending for this week, £3.53.
Essential spends, Petrol £10, gas £8, electricity £8, grocery's(last sunday so don't count for this week).

Plus £11 guitar lesson for my teenager, an essential spend believe me! there's nothing worse than a badly played guitar.

    thanks folks
