As much as I hate to see anyone down on their luck, this Brian chaps house and business are totally irrelivant, I wouldn't get sucked into any sympathy conversation, nor would the police looking for these people intrest me, why? Simply because these people took money and didn't deliver, even took money on the days directly before they went bust. They had no sympathy for you and your money then. Also RSI website runs out on the 9th of march, your time may be running out. And as I said, why doesn't this chap come here and talk to people instead of getting others to post his replys instead.

I also had 2 emails from Brian at REDSTAR yesterday The first asking how I wanted to be paid back and saying the payment would be processed on Monday 7th March and the second asking me to post this information on the forum. In the interest of fair play I am doing this. As I have said all along I will hold my hands up and appologise if my money is returned as promised. Like Leshull I will also post my Bank Statement info online as evidence once the money has cleared. It is my hope that we get the money back and this sorry mess is cleared up once and for all. All the best to you all out there

The two people that RSI have contacted are the two that have taken action, lesshull would be easy to find on the RSI data base as I assume he lives in Hull, and julezhami may have been contacted via private message by someone from RSI so think these emails are just another way to delay things - I have not had an email and my order is a 1011

I have received the same message as julezhami - but have already taken action in reporting Redstar for fraud. I have also told Redstar that if my money is refunded I will stop any action against them. I would recommend that anyone on this thread affected by this situation contact the relevant police authorities where they live.
  • I think it's each to ther own at the moment and certainly call the police. Is Brian going to be at my doorstep when bailiffs come because I can't afford my council tax payments because I have just over £600 held up with him...I doubt it very much....

Is he going to come and top up my electricty meter when the heating goes off, when my children are cold and coughing...I doubt it very much....

If the promises were held up then fine, but people with 1011 order id's still haven't got paid and now a couple out of 'goodwill' are getting paid, then that is unfair.

Not sure what has gone on here

Why on your email chain didn't you get the auto response referring you to the website?

I have just emailed it twice and got same response?

I am off to police tomorrow

I'm still holding out hope. My email conversation with him is genuine, I really do believe - I just took out that auto response from the cut and paste.

    Sweetibiza, you're right.
He will not be there to help in those instances.

So you have paid him £600 for something, and it is of course entirely wrong that he has not supplied the goods.
But even if the goods were supplied, you would still be £600 down, wouldn't you?

So if the goods had been supplied, you would still have to find money for council tax and heating.

You have to take some responsibility for your situation yourself.

After all, it was you who decided to buy from this guy.
It was you who decided that paying by bank transfer was ok.
It was you who decided that you could afford the thing and still heat your house and pay council tax bills.

Not the most helpful post Wealdroam - the last thing anyone in this situation needs is sanctimonious guff from someone who isn't.

Here's my latest email from Redstar:
    Hi

I'm trying my best to work things out for all involved and I promise if you work WITH me I will see you get refunded in full.

Despite the demise of our business, I have renewed our domain name to continue dialog with those affected.

I will be in touch on Monday

    Regards

    Red Star Imports

Had the domain name been renewed? It would be very comforting if it has.
  • Yes, not the most tactful of posts.... subsequently paid out £600 on a TV thinking within 30 days would get my original £600 back to pay off utilities. Obviously I am still £600 down.

I contacted the company before I paid any money, and had numerous email dialects wth assurances that I would get the goods, even the day before they made the announcement I had assurances.

And can you stop pointing out that we shouldn't have paid by BACS, that is not the issue now..I think we have all learnt a valuable lesson.
