Hi All
I wrote to ECCIreland that is a response i had :
Thank you for contacting the European Consumer Centre Ireland (ECC Ireland).
ECC Ireland offers free information and advice to the public on their rights as consumers in the European Union, assisting consumers with cross-border complaints (where consumer and trader are based in a different EU/EEA state). As part of a network of 29 centres co-financed by the European Commission and the National Consumer Agency, ECC Ireland is also involved in a number of pan-European projects. Please note however that we do not have any enforcement or sanctioning powers.
As you state that you are resident in the UK, then in accordance with the case handling referral system used by the European Consumer Centres Network you should contact the UK ECC which will be able to offer you advice and assistance and will contact ECC Ireland for further assistance on your behalf, if necessary.
ECC UK can be contacted at:

I then wrote to ecc@ tsi.org.uktwice two weeks later.... no reply
By now i am sure i wont get my refund, but ill make sure names of the ppl in that company wont get any bussiness going in UK or Ireland.I would parade them on streets as thieves.0 -
Latest update on their website says...Red Star Imports Ireland
2nd March Status Update
Further to todays update we have just been made aware of some funds clearing slightly earlier now, next Monday 7th March. We will contact all customers in this batch.0 -
I have spoken to the Irish Fraud Squad. If you are in the uk you need to report your concerns to your local police station with all the details
they will then contact the the Irish fraud Squad and ask them to help with the matter
the irish fraud squad direct number is 0353 1666 34790 -
i have now reported this company to humberside police today and they are now going to contact the police in ireland re fraud, if you are owed any money by this company it would be a good idear for you all to report it now, so the police can see just how many poeple have had the same thing happen to them, the more people that report them the more serious the police will take the case.0
-
Is anyone actually still falling for these updates on this website? If you were going to get a refund it would have been done by now.
Does anyone actually believe all this? If you type their name in on Google the only reference is people asking about how they get their money back, not one person that I can see look like they have actually ever received any goods from them. Yet now they are talking about international backers/investors and its taking them all this time to process all these refunds.
It's a load of rubbish. I know if you are waiting for a refund it's probably nice to try and think positive and think you are going to get to get a refund from them, but from an outsider it's so clear they are just stringing people along.0 -
I have still been keeping an eye on this since I started posting a few weeks ago. As I said and a few of you have decided, going to the police is your only option now as far as I can see. I would bet money that by this time in 14 days time, redstar imports website will disappear off of the www. These people were just stalling for time to tie up all lose ends and hoping some of you would simply give up hope and move on. What I find intresting is that RSI are obviously reading this, so if they were legit, then a recognised RSI spokes person would have announced themselves and there intentions.
I feel for you people who have lost out, but if you haven't already, then you need to go to you local police station and report this.
One thing though, you are all convinced they are in ireland, if they told lies about the building and street, almost certainly they have told lies about what country they are from. I don't believe they are from Ireland at all.0 -
Time for a reality check everyone. If you read my posts so far, you will see that iam as annoyed as you all, but i think we are getting ahead of ourselves and i have news that, should it be true, might help us all.
I want to tell you that i have finally managed to get through to Brian and have had an email conversation with him last night and today. (you can choose not to believe me). Six emails in all.
The man sounds totally genuine - and it sounds that he is doing his honourable best. He tells me he has lost his home, his business that he had built up over the years and he has a wife and young children. I have no reason to disbelieve him.
The speculation and threats on here are killing him, he says.
So, heres a deal i have struck with him :
He has promised to refund me (and others) on Monday.
I have promised to post my bank statement on here if the money arrives.
He knows that if he doesnt come up with the promise, then people have every right to seek recompense.
He says he WILL refund everyone and apologises to everyone he has upset0 -
Here is the bulk of the email conversation I have had with him. Latest email first :-
Thanks Marc, however I hope they believe you,
Just thought if you posted that a refund has been promised on Monday, then actually delivered next week it would help restore some faith and trust in us. However I respect your own judgment with what you decide to post.
Thanks again, I will be in touch on Monday.
Regards
Brian

Marc,
If I could ask that you announce on the forums that we have been in touch and that a refund has been promised for early next week, then when it arrives it will show that I am keeping to my word at least.
All of this talk of police is making me ill, I have young children and a wife that has already been through it, the police on my door would be the last straw for me.

As soon as my money is in my account I will post a copy of my bank statement on the site so that they know. So far, I have not made any judgement on you in my posts, just stated facts as I see them
As I said, I am willing to help you, but after all of your promises (and I do want to believe you) , I will await my refund.

Marc,
Thanks, I appreciate your words. IF you could perhaps post that we have agreed to refund you on Monday and perhaps others should reserve judgement till them.
I will be in touch

Thanks Brian,
Your honesty is appreciated and I am sorry things have been so bad for you. You have done the decent thing with regards to refunds, rather than just running way.
As I say, if you come good , I will do my best to keep the people who are baying for blood off your back.
I hope things get better for you, I really do

Marc,
Yes, the only issue ever was the demise of our business and the lack of funds. Nobody here was trying to deceive you.
I have lost my home and business, so nobody is feeling this harder than me.

Hi,
I would like the money by BACs please to :
Sort Code: xxxxxxx
A/C : xxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I am willing to do all I can to help you by refuting claims that are being made on the moneysavingexpert forum about the company if you can please come good
You have to understand that I have a family to support too and the £330.30 that has gone from my bank account has left me in desperate straits for affording a present for my daughters birthday this month.
I apologise if I have come over all annoyed, but Monday is your last chance from my viewpoint before I actually do call the police and ask them to investigate further.
Can you please let me have an absolute assurance that my money will be refunded ?
Best wishes
Marc

Marc,
I have just been informed that we will have a small amount of cleared funds available next Monday, slightly ahead of time. It is my aim to process your refund with these funds.
Would you like it via BACS or money order?

Hi,
Could you please give me one good reason why on earth I should believe any of this at all ? I have been given promise after promise from you - to the point that I was actualoly starting to feel sorry for your company.
As far as I am concerned, you have stolen my money from me. You may well be in financial difficulty, but :
1) I would like to know the address you are operating from
2) I would like proof that you are who you say you are.
A guarantee was made that you would pay me back by 8th March. You told me to judge you after that. I have lost my patience as you have lied to me.
Could you tell me the exact date that the £330.30 that you owe me will be sent to my account.
For the record - the 23rd time I have now emailed you to tell you -
Sort Code xxxxxx
A/C : xxxxxxxxxx

Hi,
Just looking for an update. You have said that orders beginning 1011 would be next and now you say you have made some refunds. However I havent heard from you.
Could you let me know if my order, cancelled in November, is part of the latest refunds ?
Thanks
Marc
