I too have been waiting for a refund from Red Star. I have been watching these posts with interest to see if anything has moved forward. Whilst I appreciate that there are a few people who are saying they have been refunded it seems the majority are being given the run around.

At this stage I have resigned myself to the fact that in all probability I won't get my money back. The reason for this is that I ordered my iPad back in November. I too had all of the same stories re weather/pipes/delivery etc. However I actually asked for a refund when RSI re-opened on 4th Jan and was told the payment office would not open till the following week. I was dealing with Kelly Adair (a name I am sure you are all familiar with!!), i got so fed up with their lack of willingness to commit to a refund date I asked them to process my refund that day by CHAPS, kelly advised that they were unwilling to pay for a CHAPS payment. By this stage I just wanted to be rid of any dealings with Red Star so i advised I would cover the full cost of the CHAPS payment and wanted it processed the next day. I was advised by "Kelly" that RSI would not do this as they didn't want me to have to pay. I was then given a date of 21st Jan and told my refund would definately be processed on this day. I then emailed asking for confirmation on the Monday that the refund had been processed, i was advised it had again been delayed and would be processed on the 27th, then I started geting the random workers, each who had taken over from someone who had left. i haven't heard from them since the beginning of Feb as they don't answer my emails.

To those of you who are have been issued refunds and are engaged in arguments with people who are still waiting I would say this.....You have received your funds and are clearly keen to help people still waiting as you are still posting, if you wanted to reassure people you could quite easily provide proof by providing a copy of your bank statement showing the refund from red star. Obviously I am not asking you to post your actual bank details or personal address etc, all of this can be scrubbed leaving just 1 transaction which would show a credit to your bank account from RSI! if you are so adamant for people to believe you then this eliminates all doubt. If you are not prepared to do this then my advice would be to stop criticising people for being angry, they have every right to be angry as they feel wronged, and with all due respect they don'y know you so why should they take you at your word?? Allow them the right to vent!!

Finally, if anyone with an order number starting 1011 actually gets a refund please let me know!!!

    Many Thanks

Ms-Pacman - when did you put your order in with Red Star? I am getting increasingly certain that I won't see this money and considering what legal avenues to pursue.
  • The company say they went bankrupt, is this really true or is that just a lie? Based on:

People who have order ID's starting with 10, still haven't been paid.
People who have orders outstanding for 4 months, still haven't been paid.

The promises via emails and updates to the sites do not stack up against people posting in this thread.

Is RSI just playing with people's minds and have no intention of paying up, so in fact a fradulent company, and not as they say have gone bankrupt, therefore police can be involved from now? They haven't given refunds to people within 30 days of when some people have reqeuested it from, the 30 day timeframe that RSI have advised means nothing, it is just for them to stall. I myself am interested in joining forces.

I am becoming less and less interested in the assurances of Red Star, as they have yet to honour a single promise made. It is time for those posting on this site to join together and seek another method of dealing with the company. If you are interested in taking further action please Private Message me through this site.

Don't you think it is strange that Redstar do not have a VAT number - is there anyway we can find out if they are or were VAT registered

Probably best to ask whoever administers VAT in the Irish Republic.

    Irish Tax and Customs.

    New message from Red Star:
    2nd March Status Update

The majority of all outstanding refunds have been processed. We have now exhausted all of our allocated funds. We will be able to process the final batch of refunds on the 14th March 2011. We are currently waiting on funds arriving and cannot process any more refunds until this date. Thank you for patience during this difficult time for us all.

I think my patience just ran out. Time to seek remedies in criminal and/or civil law, I think. Anyone who wants to take action please PM me on this site.
