    Hi Claire,
I am so genuinely sorry to read your latest news!

Your previous post dated 23rd June said that having contacted your bank again, they were going to get back to you. Have you heard any more from them since that date?

    Regards,
    Ann.

    Hi Ann,

I'm still waiting to hear from my bank but I don't hold out much luck! I'm still waiting for the paperwork from the administrators too.

    Regards Claire :(

Know how you feel! In the same position. Paid by BACS as the website was offering a 5% discount. Obviously this was a front so hope someone gets banged up for this! They even put a summer sale on their website before it was closed, so they were again breaking the law in my eyes!

Grossly unfair!! And unjust if they're able to effectively steal your money and still trade under different company names!!!

  • Well I think everyone who's had problems should start naming and shaming Nuttalls and the other 'linked companies' by what ever means possible, Facebook, Twitter, works emails and websites etc. If it saves just one other person losing money due to these rogues it'll be well worth it!

just remember not to use work e-mail too much as it could be seen as misuse and may land you in a disciplinary!

I'm just waiting for virgin to come back to me now - had to send off evidence of my order hopefully this will be enough proof for them!
Using my phone to post - apologies in advance for any typos

:o I've had some paperwork come through from the administrators today. Facebook campaign sounds like an excellent idea!

Nuttalls of Chester are now trading under GLOBE JEWELLRY.CO.UK. They're even advertising the ring I ordered and paid for!! Same details and same price. How can they get away with this? Is this really legal? I am so angry!!!
  • I am yet another mug who purchased an item of jewellery. Unfortunately my order went in on 27th May so before they went into administration. My question is about chargeback which I see someone has successfully used. I paid by visa debit but wrote to Nat West asking that they process a chargeback. What has come back from Nat West is gobbldygook. They say they must make investigations through their membership of Visa International and for that reason must follow their strict lines of enquiry.
They then say that dus to the transaction being made through Digital Banking (what does that mean?) they have no recourse under the rules and regulations of Visa International to investigate the transaction. They say they are only able to investigate Point of Sale transactions. Again that means nothing to me, am I being fobbed off. Should I contact Visa International direct? Appreciate if anyone can offer advice

Yes, you are being fobbed off.

Have another read of post #56, where you will find links to MSE's Section 75 refunds article, which includes a section on how to do a debit card chargeback.

Note that it says something like "you may have to tell the bank staff about the scheme".

    Keep pushing your bank.
You don't care who they have to talk to, do you?
Just tell them to get on with it.

If you actually paid by card rather than transferring money via digital banking, then write to them, heading the letter formal complaint.

Unfortunately, if you transferred the money via digital banking without using the card you are probably onto a loser.
