It was an ebay bargain, they normally cost 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 thousand £ but I got it new for £1,200. It was made to order and it's gorgous. Since ordering it in September I've managed to buy quite a few other bits too though including
wooden bike,
walking barking fluffy dog thing,
sling for dolly,
noddy soft toys,
noddy vehicle set,
noddy cd, (can you see a theme yet :rotfl: )
glitter pens and few other small bits.
DS1 (21) won't get much because we bought him an expensive mobile with contract for his birthday in October and told him it's for xmas too.
DS2 (17) always says he doesn't want anything so will probably give him about £250 cash. Thinking about it I did order him a new xbox game which hasn't arrived Hmmmmmm
Jeez, and this is meant to be a money saving site :rolleyes:553780080 -

Which begs the question, what is he/she doing on here! They're clearly not "saving" money, i can see in a few months time on DFW the question "Lost my job, in massive debt, shall i sell my rocking horse?" LOL :beer:553780080 -

And they won't go short, let's face it they have plenty of bits and bobs during the year.0 -
My 2 are both getting Nintendo DS lites, DS a black one, DD a pink one!!!! I managed to get some games free with them, but have picked up some other bits and pieces as well.
Every year they also get new PJs, pants and socks, a calender and an annual!!!!
I do spend quite a lot on them at birthdays and xmas, but i tend not to buy much during the year (maybe a gift for a good school report, but that is about it!!).0 -

I think my little one will get more enjoyment out of the few bits Ive bought him for christmas then what he would get rocking away all day on a horse0

Who are we to judge what anyone buys for their child or spends on their child?
Sorry I think it's disgusting to judge someone in that way.
I will have spent in all reality a fortune on my children this year, but I can afford it, nothing is on a credit card etc, I have not got into debt for it. It is my choice.
Oldest has set his heart on a guitar now aswell but found one in Argos for under £20 to start him off which isn't bad.One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -

You may think it's disgusting however we can have an opinion... spending 1.2k on a rocking horse for a 2 year old is sheer madness and goes against all the ethics of this site. I can also afford to buy a 1.2k rocking horse, in fact i can easily afford to buy 100 of them at that price... whether i do that or not is my perogative. I won't spend that much as i don't want my child to become a spoilt brat....in fact this year mine has received an £80 bike plus helmet, and a £50 budget for xmas presents. I think thats quite sufficient given her age. (7)553780080 -
I would never have 1.2k to spend on a rocking horse, but maybe this person earns millions, could afford even more and has saved money on it. They are therefore a moneysaver....( whereas I set a budget of £100 and almost always stick to it even though I could probably afford more if I really wanted to)0
