We have already done most of our chopping. Step son (11) has got a Hot Wheels set
Step daughter (10) OH doesn't know what to get her. I have told him what I think she'd like, but hey who am I to say anything
DD1 (8) has got a rock tumbler - she will love it
DD2 has got a Barbie horsey head thing
DS (20 mths) has got a dumper truck with mega bloks and a hard hat

Good luck with the rock tumbler - my daughter loves and collects polished gemstones to my parents got her a tumbler to use at theirs when she stays in the holidays - they soon realised why I hadn't got one earlier - the noise of it whirrrring around for 7-10 days is hell on earth.... Hope you've got a garage or shed to put it in!!!! :D

I think with all the chopping the hard hat will be useful.....;)

But joking apart I am amazed how much people spend at Xmas...as a child I had loads and loads of pressies and I loved opening them all but honestly cannot recall much about the contents..just the thrill of all those packages under the tree....and I have seen the same in our youngest granddaughter age nearly 4...Mrs Happy who has not started even thinking about it yet;)

Big fire engine (£15 in Woolies)
    Lunar Jim
Disney Tin-has books, pens, cd inside
    Spell it out floor puzzle
Mini hot water bottle with a fun cover
A magnetic drawing board- a bit like magnadoodle

We've also made up a stocking full of little bits and bobs, and i keep seeing extra little bits to put under the tree.

My DD (2) is doing incredibly well this year. I said I didn't want anymore toys in the house this year so said we'd just buy her a traditional rocking horse. It was an ebay bargain, they normally cost 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 thousand £ but I got it new for £1,200. It was made to order and it's gorgous. Since ordering it in September I've managed to buy quite a few other bits too though including
You could have bought a cheaper rocking horse and saved the money for a couple of years then bought her a real pony with that amount of money.

  • Don't think a real one would present a problem for someone with that kind of budget!
Had to have a peek at these rocking horses - waaaaaaaaaaay out of my league!

Have to say, if I had that kind of money to spend on 2yr olds presents, I wouldn't be on MSE!
