We both figured that she won't know it's Christmas and the idea of seeing her opening a little present is just for our benefit!
However some people I know are buying loads of presents for their babies - Do you think we are mean?
Not at all - I've just got a couple of toys for my son - he'll be 6 months at xmas. Great idea about the child trust fund. I'll borrow that one if you don't mindOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 027

My 10 year old stepson's main present is a Gameboy Advance and some games to go with it.
We have also got him:
Remote Control K9
Dr Who Cyber Helmet
20Q game
Cube World
A Dragon Kite
Paper Planes Kit
Ferrari model car kit
Pyjamas
Bubble bath
Little science type stocking fillers
Still to get some clothing, books and a board game.
Looks a lot but I do go overboard at Christmas
(Also my mother-in-law gets him too much in my opinion and we do feel like it's a competition. It is silly to rise to it and we should just let her get on with it but I do think that as his parents he should be getting his "main" present from us).0 -
I can't say.

My DS's father brought him a psp for last Christmas, all he wants this year are games for it. He is 10, Ive brought him a few other bits, like dr who trump cards, various dvd's, hot wheels and micro machine sets (reduced from toys-r-us in the summer), and a large rucksack and thick sleeping bag for his camping trips with scouts.
DD will be 7, her main present is a pink nintendo ds with a daschund hound game. that was £99.97 in tesco. A talking furby which was reduced in tesco.
A few dvd's, Girls aloud cd,
Cant think of any other's, all presents are in hiding in my OH's parents spare room.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

12yo is getting a digital camera with bag and memory card and stuff. Spent £65
4yo is getting Doctor Who stuff - she loves him! So she has a large Doctor Doll, a large Cyberman and a Tardis moneybox.
2yo is getting a Millie Doll from ELC with the free accessory set.
They will all have a Stocking with a further £20 of stuff in each (small games etc) suitable for the ages - but in total I reckon I have spent £300 for the 4 kids - all bought via Quidco to!0 -

My three year old son is getting a dino-rescue helicopter from ELC (20% off voucher), a jigsaw-Atlas book from Usborne (Waterstones has 3 for 2 at the moment), a snakes and ladders game and a skipping rope.
My one year old daugher is much harder - she is getting a lovely soft teddy that was free from Vertbaudet, an ELC "little village" house (again 20% off) to go with a present she had for her birthday, and she will get a couple of books as well. Also if I can find something wheeled - train, plane etc that she might like I will get that.
And I put a wee bit of money into their Child Trust funds too.0 -
