  • Hi Pinot, welcome to my diary, i will catch up with yours too :)

    My on line shop arrived, meals planned as follows-
    * Fish Pie
    * Spag Bol
    * Pork in redcurrant jelly & mushroom sauce
    * Sea Bass & salad
    * Pizza
    * Roast Chicken & baked spuds

    Need to buy some veg in a few days as i like to buy it fresh, will pop to my local market for that though, am resisting the wine this evening, despite the Aldi tips !!! My wine drinking is a bit of a habit and i use it as an excuse to relax, but a cup of tea just does not have the same effect :D

  • Spag Bol went down well with DC, lots of cheap garlic bread and fresh pasta too. Will eat mine later when DH is home from work.

    Had an E mail from work to say all overtime is to be stopped :( Gutted as was hoping to do 2 extra nights a month so i can attack the CCs. Desperately want to clear ALL of my debt in 2012, but without the extra cash from overtime this will not be possible. There were many times last year i became very low about money (at times i thought i was close to becoming depressed) I really do not want that black cloud over me again.

    I will stay positive, work hard at clearing it all.

    Hi MC that is not good news is it.what a pain.

    Is there any way you can join the make a £10 a day challenge, for example, not sure of your current circumstances but maybe that'd help?

    Any skills you can swop for stuff? Come on, we can do this. There MUST be a way:D

    Thanks for the correction Mrs PG, I wouldn't want MC chasing down non existent bottles of vino:rotfl:

    Good news about AL£I..am planning a shop there. Maybe Friday at this rate and I can therefore puruse the shelves!!

    My thoughts exactly......... I was concerned that mummychicken would be so exhausted from her fruitless search for the wine in Lidl that when she finally found it smiling at her from the shelves at Aldi she would be far too tired to actually drink it !:rotfl:

  • Thanks to Brizzle, but there is no way i can make £10 a day !! Would like to try the PAD though, expect it will only be £1 a day but it will be a start ;)

    Felt sluggish today, actually had a nap after the morning school run :embarasse Had to force myself to walk the dog and that was because he kept begging to go out ! Did feel better for it as blew away some cobwebs and it was free.

    Treated myself to half price shampoo & conditioner from Sainsburys, will have a pampering bath/ hairwash & manicure this evening. Intend to lift my spirits and stop looking so much like a scarecrow :)

  • Yes abba, it a pain in the bottom over the overtime, i know i was wrong to rely on it but i never thought it would stop, hopefully it is temporary as it is a new fianancial year.

    Well, i have taken the plunge and updated my signature and i am not at all pleased with myself :o Whilst i am clearing the loan my aunty gave me (that was always my priority as she has been fabulous ) i have managed to accumulate debts on the CCs :( These are 0 % interest as they were used for balance transfers, but i was shocked to see how much i owe on them.

    VERY embarrased to admit, but, in a whole year i have only cleared £1,523 worth of debt. That is rubbish, but the kick up the rear end i need as it makes me determined to sort it out this year :eek:

    Hi MC

    How are you doing? How was your weekend? Well done for updating the sig. I did the same thing when I started back on these threads and it was a shock. I felt such a fool. An absolute twit. Hated it. But maybe its the kick I needed.. Every little helps.i am enjoying doing a PAD a day and rounding down my current account to the nearest pound..it's just fun to do and hopefully you don't really notice..

    Any revenue generating ideas on theae threads look promising? Appreciate there's no overtime which is a real pain.

    Anyway keep on posting..!!

  • Thanks for your support Brizzle.

    Today has been a LSD, a new LIDL has opened locally, went along today, spent £21.55 and bought- biscuits, muffins, french fries, oranges, teacakes, cooked chicken, lemonade, peppers...oh a sneaky bottle of sauvingnon blanc!, loo cleaner. Think i bought more but cannot remember, but, still was pleased with the total.

    Have lamb shanks in the slow cooker, DH will be in late from work, so the lamb has been cooking all afternoon with mint jely, rosemary, new potatoes and carrots..... YUM :)
