  • Hi Brizzle, do start a diary and we can share ideas and tips along the way, do not worry that you read that book 9 years ago, i have been in debt for 20 years:mad:

Really want to save £2 a day to pay for next Christmas but cannot trust myself not too dip into the tin :o So, opened a savings account on line & have £14 :rotfl:
    05/03/14 £15,980 0n 2 CCs
    07/04/14 £15,690 On 2 CCs

    :(
  • Forgot to pay my NEXT account in December :o So have just paid £75, annoyed with myself as i never accounted for that money.

I have transferred another £14 for this week into my savings account, it may be daft trying to save £2 a day when i have a whole lot of debt to clear, but it is keeping me focused on something positive, i want to see the balance rise & not worry about how i can pay for next Christmas. I know if i were to put the cash in a tin i would dip into it, so a savings account is much safer.

I keep avoiding updating my signature as i know i owe alot more on the CCs than it says at the moment, need to accept it and see where i stand. No point trying to hide the truth from myself, is there ?! :)

20 years...wow. Is there a story with that MC? do tell. It's brilliant you are on here though still cracking on and keeping it all together.

Love the savings account for Xmas. Made me giggle as I am like that. As I said in my diary I have savings accounts but debt. I have a huge jar of coins but haven't been to bank to cash in. Loads of stuff I could eBay but haven't done it. Mixed up? Yep, definitely!!!

Keep in touch. Have subscribed so will keep on checking in!

  • Hi Brizzle, yes i have been in debt for 20 years  But no, no story to tell, just have always been hopeless with money, spend money i have not got, always had an OD, numerous CCs through the years :o, numerous loans to clear the CCs, but never clearing the debts, just getting into more mess  Last Christmas was my LBM. Although 2011 was difficult at times, i have cleared some debt but i now have the determination to make 2012 the year i become debt free................ I hope.

I wish you luck on your journey & i will support you. There are so many kind, supportive helpful people on MSE so hopefully we will all reach our goal one day :)

Let's support each other, I'll drink to that:beer:

Well done on the progress last year but also your determination for 2012!!

Made some HM bread today and got given some more that would have been thrown out as spare at end of day..nice gift for loyal customers! Nice addition to my bulging freezer!

Turning in now for an early night but will spend some time now thinking about what I can do that's MSE and debt busting over rest of week

  • A LSD today, needed a few essentials to cook tea but never spent alot. Did buy a bottle of wine, but excuse myself by classing it as an essential :D

Did lots of spring cleaning this morning, very rewarding to have a gleaming kitchen & shiny bathroom, will tackle the piles of ironing tomorrow.

Need to do an on line Tesco shop but will write a meal planner for the week first, find it better to be organised.

    Hi

Totally agree with the wine classification. Just need ( and I am talking about myself here!) to spend less on it! Someone ( think it was Mrs PG herself) was recommending the L&dl Pinot Grigio, not sure but imagine its a cheapie...we once had the most horrific bottle of wine ever ( no word of a lie) from L&dl but am sure that was just bad luck and there is some nice stuff there.

How did the meal planner go? I find it makes a huge difference to both grocery bill and my stress levels. Love knowing in advance what we will have that eve, I find it so much less stressy. My sis on the other hand batch cooks for Britain! She will cook meals for the 3 of them for a fortnight in a Sunday afternoon. Her OH and DD have to act as the skivvies, that's the deal !! I think she might be onto something!!

  • Hey I think your sister has got it sussed, that could be the new line in Sunday entertainment in the Pinot household, Mrs Pinot cooks, the children Skivvy and Mr Pinot if he is around will eat it all ! I dont actually think I will ever be organised enough to batch cook for 2 weeks ahead. Is she Superwoman in disguise ?!

The Vino was Aldi, as recommended to me by another lovely MSE Wine lover. It not the best, but its not the worst and certainly drinkable, or 3 for £10 in Asda is always worth a bet !

Thanks for the correction Mrs PG, I wouldn't want MC chasing down non existent bottles of vino:rotfl:

Good news about AL£I..am planning a shop there. Maybe Friday at this rate and I can therefore puruse the shelves!!
