Cross-posted Walby - I'm sure you and baby will be fine - I think the heightened sense of smell makes pregnant ladies notice when milk etc is on the turn slightly earlier so that it minimises the risk to the baby. The fact that you are feeling fine is a good thing. Foods also meant to have 2-3 days leeway on them in terms of use by dates, so I'm sure everything will be ok.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Walby, I have had food poisoning with both pregnancies yay!

Food poisoning itself is more of a worry if you can't keep fluid down and risk dehydration rather than it actually hurting the baby (there are exceptions) Safest thing to do is if you get any food poisoning symptoms give your midwife a call for reassurance.

Walby - I'm sure you'll be fine - food poisoning comes on pretty quickly so I reckon you'd be feeling it by now.

If you do get symptoms then I'd ring the doc but I'm sure you'll be fine

    Hi everyone,

Nothing to report here...just waiting for my first scan. Time goes soooo slow here!!! I still have to wait 11 days for that. I'm looking forward just because after the scan I can start making plans...hopefully baby related plans.

Must be optimistic, must be optimistic! It is sooooo hard especially as I don't have any SS:(

    Hi

Hope you are all well, most of the sickness is going, still wanting fresh fruit than sweets, which is good, can't wait for the scan in a couple of weeks "think" I have also lost weight lol!.

Unfortunetley my FIL took a turn for the worst yesterday, nearly lost him, but it is a case of palative care now:(, trying not to get too upset becasue of the baby, just glad I am not working today or tomorrow. We are going over to MIL to help her later on today.

Hope you all have a good day and not have too many sickness etc.

how are you feeling skintchick ?

Hi mishka, thanks for asking. I think I still have symptoms. I am definitely exhausted and sleeping two hours each afternoon while OH is at home. I won;t be able to do that when he is at work though!

I sometimes feel a bit sick but much less so the last few days, and the nipple soreness has really eased off too, but my tummy is very achy.

I am emotionally all over the place though, feel I'm maybe hanging on by my fingernails. I had a letter from St Mary's saying they have refused my referral to them :( I don;t know why as they won;t speak to me - they have sent a letter to the GP and she has gone on holiday so I have to wait. I'm assuming they will say they won't recognise my last mc as it was one of those 'chemical' ones. So this has set me back emotionally as I totally feel the NHs does not care one bit if my baby dies :(

I haven;t heard from the Poppy team either, but I definitely think I qualify for them. I may have to see my GP about depression though and make it official - seems the NHs won't take your own word about your own body or mind.

I'm 7 weeks tomorrow so still ages away from being able to use my home doppler, and even further away from my scan, which will be about 6 weeks away.

    *sigh*

sorry, I'm feeling very down right now.

No wonder you're down skintchick. It does sound like the NHS are being extremely unsupportive. Is there any way you could get in to see another GP at your practice? At least they might be able to help with the thoughts going through your head and with the referral.

I'm the opposite to you - I can't sleep! I'm notorious for needing at least 8 hours sleep a night but at the moment I'm waking up at 5.30am bright as a button.

Must be a bit hormonal though. OH was lying on the sofa like a lazy ar** yesterday whilst I was beavering around the house. I got so grumpy with him I ate like a pig all day. Love my logic, angry with oh so lets destroy my body! Going to try and get back on track today though.

No other symptoms for me, just rather sore boobs that are definitely getting bigger. Time to go bra shopping soon I think.

Skintchick you def need to see your GP and get some support...

Worried as yesterday am had a light brown discharge, tested with the highest Miu test I had- a boots own at 50 miu and was positive, going to have to hope and re-do in 3/4 days as nothing GP would do now at almost 5 weeks is there. After history Im sure Ill get early scanned but not at 5 weeks -

    Keep you posted!

I had loads of brown discharge on and off for the first few weeks. No one seemed that concerned and the baby's absolutely fine. It's really common.

hi ladies. been catching up on the posts. hope you are all ok and have enjoyed the long weekend. xx

Morocha i hope you are feeling better. I had such common pains on my right hand side too and got it checked out in case it was an ectopic too. thankfully it wasnt and was my ibs being out of control. Hope you are relaxing now esp as you know the pregnancy is in the right place. xxx

skintchick i am sorry to hear about the hospital. def go back to the GP and ask again. i would pester them. sometimes you really do wonder what is going on with them. xx

anmarj hope your FIL is as OK as he can be. :( it is very sad but try and be strong. hugs.

i was hoping we would have planned something for the long weekend but am glad we didnt, as been feeling sick still and actually more heaving esp if smell stuff that is too strong etc :0( am constantly hungry too and have def put on weight. went to see my nieces on Sunday and my brothers were there. the younger one said i am def bigger (he knows already) but the older one did so when he came to ours yesterday to sort out a light for us, i told him and he said he did wonder that i had put on weight. oops. i am def a fatty now. we are going to a wedding this Friday and i am sure, i will get more comments. the thing is it possible to get bigger by 10 weeks? hehe. i am 10 weeks now. gosh.. am hoping all is still well. saying that the sickness and being tired is making me not think too much about it. i still do ocassionally. :rotfl:

i know about counting days to the scan. i still think mines so far. sigh.. 17 days left. :0(

sexymouse congrats on reaching 24 weeks. like you said the waiting is too much and i hope we all reach that soon too. :) ok back to feeling sorry for myself. am over the top hormonal too. :( i was trying to spray some impulse earlier and managed to spray some into my mouth. yuck!
