Just posting to introduce myself, well except to all those moving across from the Trying for a Baby thread at the same time!
About five weeks here, although after two losses (at 5 and 9 weeks) finding it hard not to be constantly worrying
Called Midwifes to book in on tues as was told to after last loss, said they'd call back we'd and not heard anything yetgoing to try them again tomorrow.
Seem a lot like you skintchick in that OH wants to distance himself from potential problems. Glad I have you ladies0 -
Hi baby monster and congratulations! I tried to have a word with my OH last night but he said 'I have to keep my distance as if it all goes wrong I have to be strong for you'.
Don;t think he gets that I need him now.
Aventurine - you sound like me! I had a home birth with DD and I was offered consultant care but refused cos I know I'll be pressured into hospital as DD was breech till 37 weeks. I also bled due to thrush but thankfully my blood pressure is so low they think it is normal when it is in fact high for me!
Just remember though, they can only OFFER you things, it is always up to you to choose what you want even if it is against their advice. I hate how medical they try and make birth. My MW was under severe instruction to keep her hands off me as much as possible with DD's birth and it all went fine even though it was my first birth.
Glad all is well and your dates are right though. It is unusual for the fundus to be high enough to be felt at 8 weeks, though, so I kind of understand where the MW was coming from, but isn;t it odd how they always assume women have no idea when they ovulated or conceived? Do they think we were asleep or something?!?! :rotfl:
I had to tell my friend today that I was Pg. She has had 4 mcs as well, and when she told me she was PG a while ago (she lost it) I cried, so I was worried about telling her but she took it well. I know she's upset but I understand why so it's fine. Glad to have it out in the open now and we had a good chat about mcs and treatments/preventions.
I'm super-tired still and boobs excruiatingly sore when DD feeds, so signs are still good so far. 6+2 and counting!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Hi ladies,
Thought it was time to come and introduce myself after being an avid lurker.
I am 10+3 with our first after 17 long months of trying. Edd of Boxing day eeeeeeekkk!
Ive had a scary couple of weeks, I started bleeding at 6weeks so was seen by my local epu who checked me over and scanned me and all was fine, saw little splodges heartbeat which made me cry! Bled again at 8 weeks with clots seen and scanned again, all ok. Following week started bleeding again with big clots (sorry tmi) scanned and all ok. Just looks like i'm gonna be a bleeder.
Ive started bleeding again yesterday and Ive spoken to the epu who have been great and just been told to keep an eye on it, not particularly worried as I brought a doppler and found the little ones heartbeat myself this morning! Best sound in the world.
My only concern now is that I was supposed to have my booking in appointment with my midwife last week at 9 weeks but she wouldn't do it as I was bleeding so said she would do it at 11 weeks and to call and make an appointment, I've phoned the surgery and the next booking in app is 13th June when I will be 12 weeks so god knows when I will get my scan date, but seeing as I've had 3 already I shouldn't really complain.
Ive also been so sick since 8 weeks, barely been able to keep anything down, Ice lollies have been my savior, Doc has signed me off and i'm on tablets now so hoping I feel better soon.
Well there you go thats me! Hope everyone else is well.0 -
morning all. hope everyone is ok. xxx
Welcome baby monster and BezzyK and congratulations on the great news.
wow aventurine and skintchick, didnt realise what a drama you guys have been through. how horrible and incredibly worrying. seriously cant people just sort themselves out and do the right thing? tsk tsk.
bezzyK where did you get the doppler from? That sounds incredible. i always keep wishing that there was a way i could hear something myself as i have to wait ages for my scan (22nd of June) and i had an early scan at 6 weeks where we did see at heartbeat and i cried too.i just keep hoping all is well still and there was a way for me to check.
last night i ended up getting quite emotional and a bit stressed. Dh was a bit tired and grumpy and because i am not sure what to eat everyday, he gets a bit fed up. and i didnt help by making a comment about him reporting back to his mum, so we had an argument and i got to upset, which annoyed him even more.i was crying like an idiot (thinking of it today) and he wasnt even being nice or kind. humph. he wasnt my favorite person yesterday so we pretty much had a slient evening. do you ladies find yourselves in arguments too or is all sweet and smooth? he said i was a burden which is what made me start crying. silly right?
ps. my hubby wont get attached or anything too. he says until the scan he has to be pragmatic. stupid men!
anyway after my whole drama, i started worrying if little one was ok as stress isnt good. sigh..... today i woke up with a headache so feel crap at work.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Hi Rups, I got my Doppler from amazon, sonoline b with LCD screen which shows the heart rate. Was £40 I think but I had a voucher from doing some surveys.
It arrived on Tuesday and I couldn't find the heartbeat, tried every morning since and found it faintly for a few seconds yesterday and then today found it almost straight away now I know where I'm looking. Heart rate was 167, there's no mistaking the sound once you know what it is! It is amazing!0 -

Arrgghhh! Dopplers are nice for relaxed mummies-to-be to mooch around of a evening and find the baby's heartbeat whilst watching The One Show.
For worriers like me and you, they're a nightmare waiting to happen! Finding the hb, particularly when the baby's small, is a bit of a fine art. What are you going to do if you can't find it? I'll tell you what you'll do. You'll PANIC. For no good reason!
Honestly, Rups... approach with caution. I think having a doppler will send you into a right old spin."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Good point, I'm a worrier too but from reading I know not to expect to always find the heartbeat but after 3 lots of bleeding and another yesterday, it did reassure me this morning.0 -
lol thanks fluffnutter. i agree with you because i will end up winding myself up if i cant find it. lol. what are we like? i even worried about stuff yesterday after having a good cry. well it wasnt good as such but you know what i mean? then i dream about my late sister and how she had an essay to finish but we were looking for vampires to kill. lolBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

It's lovely to hear the hb, isn't it? I wasn't trying to suggest that no one should use a doppler, or comment on your own history.
It's just that Rups32 and I have a thing, whereby she gets in a tickle-tangle and I try to calm her down! I'm just a bit worried that if she gets herself a doppler my job will be even harder"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
