Hugs skintchick, hope you feel better today.
Went to watch "What to expect when you're expecting" last night - was very funny and very sad in places. The part about one of the women having a mc was a bit too close to home for me, especially as I was 5w+3 yesterday (I think) which was how far I was when I mc'd last time. But other than that, very funny. I warned DH that he would probably get the crazy pregnant lady rather than the one who found pregnancy a breeze and just sneezed the baby out... He said he already knew that :rotfl:
Rups, I wouldn't worry, just eat whatever you can manage - some "junk" food is better than no food at all! I have been lucky so far and have only had slight nausea when I haven't eaten for a few hours and I am extremely lucky in that my cravings are for fruit and veg. Became Mrs W in 2011:smileyhea Blessed with Baby boy 1 in 2013, Baby boy 2 in 2016 and Baby boy 3 in 2018 :smileyheaDebt @ 19/8/11 [STRIKE]£20,060 [/STRIKE] current £0Paid off 100% :dance:0 -
ah i want to see that movie but i thought i better wait yet.
i havent had cravings as such but when i come to think of what to eat, carbs and junk are ideal to make me feel less sick. i wish i do have cravings for good food soon.had some pineapple but think i had a bit too much.

SkintChick - sounds like this mw was much more understanding. I would def be telling them all re health problems if it helps to get you more support.
Interested in the vit D thing - do you not get enough even if you work outside?
Walby - I really want to go and see that film!
Just spent the morning taking my Great Aunt (89!) shopping and she treats me to a cup of tea and an hour of family history which I find fascinating. She had 7 sisters, one of whom was in service to a big family in Downing street before the war - absolutely fascingating stuff.
But totally un pregnancy related!0 -

You'll be in a better position than most but you still might struggle to manufacture enough in the winter months. Plus if you wear sunscreen it will limit your ability to turn sunlight into Vit D.
AFAIK, you can't overdose on Vit D so why not just take the recommended supplement? Even if you're getting enough it won't hurt to have some more."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
so can i also go and ask someone at Boots or something or shall i get a new supply of something like pregnacare which will have both folic acid and also vit d. i def need it as i have darker skin.
i have a question pleasE? i got DH a voucher for wine tasting and he has booked us to go tasting tomorrow. i dont think its a good idea for me to actually taste it. what should i do? as long as i dont down it, should it be ok or shuold i just go and watch? lolBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

If you spit, you'll be fine. Alcohol's got to get into your bloodstream to cross the placenta and if you don't swallow, the amounts that might possibly be absorbed via your mouth tissues will be negligible. But having said that, you feel nauseous all the time, do you really want to be tasting wine? I wouldn't have enjoyed it when I was first pregnant, simply because of the taste"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

You can get an all purpose pregnancy vitamin. Don't bother with pregnacare unless it's on offer - the supermarkets' own brands are much cheaper.
Alternatively, you can get folic acid separately (400 micrograms a day for the first 12 weeks although it won't hurt to continue taking it) and Vit D separately (10 micrograms a day throughout pregnancy AND breastfeeding)."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
thanks fluffnutter. i think i will do that then and get it separately.have to remember the dosage or just ask them. yeah i was wondering about the wine tasting. i really wanted to go but will ask hubby today what he thinks as not even having the urge to drink wine, like i used to when i was pregnant. i loved red wine.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Good morning ladies ! in the vit front i take some pregnancy vitamins, so dont have to worry about eating the right things tho I am not that hungry, i havent got nausea, Maybe because it is too soon.
Have cramps and my boobs hurts but that's all. Midwife appoinment for 2/7 ! Really, I don't want to wait that long.
With my 1 pregnancy, mw said to eat what I could, anything better than nothing.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
Hi all, hope everyone is well today
Well, my midwife and I haven't got off to the best of starts. I had my booking in appointment on Tues, at 8+6. She did a quick check of my bump, and insisted that I must be wrong about my dates/or that there was more than one baby in there, as she could palpate the top of my womb - something which she has never been able to do with ladies who are only 8 weeks pregnant before, apparently!
She got me so worried that it could be twins, that I agreed to an early dating scan which I had to go to today. She even got me doubting my own mind when I knew the exact date of conception, and am in tune with my body enough to know that there's no way I could be pregnant for two whole months without knowing it.
Well thankfully it turns out that I am entirely correct on my dates to the very day (!) and there is only one in there after all! I think it's just that my body is very efficient and as it's my 3rd pregnancy, it's relaxed all the muscles and pushed my womb up a bit earlier than normal lol
It was such a farce at the hospital too! I am so glad I didn't drink the recommended 2 pints of water before going there, as I turned up 10 mins early for a 10.20am appointment, and didn't get seen till 11 o'clock  I would have wet myself following their advice!!
I've also been told that I'll be having consultant led care, which I am very unhappy about, as I am keen for everything to be as natural and medical-free as possible, including a home birth. They've put me has high risk because I had bleeding in last pregnancy (even tho it turned out to be thrush), high B.P. the week before I delivered (I was monitored at home and it went down before I gave birth...apparently this is a common occurance), and my youngest son was only just inside the normal birthweight range. He also has an extremely rare genetic condition, there are only about 100 cases in the whole of the country, and the chances of my new baby having it are next to zero, especially as this one will have a different dad, and both parents need to be carriers of the faulty gene. Besides, there's nothing they could do about it till after baby's born anyway - and I will be watching like a hawk for the symptoms.
Grrr!!! Sorry for the moan, but I can already feel the medical establishment trying to wrestle control from me!!It's the first and last time I'll let my midwife put the frighteners on me like she did, resulting in a stressful morning at the hospital for both me and my partner.
