I got my scan and midwife app through the post and they came separately. I also had the scan at 12+4 first and the booking in at 12+6. So I guess it depends where you are, I'm in SE5 so scan was at King's, midwife next to King's :). For the booking in app I didn't need anything. I didn't need to wait, didn't need to fill in anything, the midwife did it on the computer straightaway. She just gave me lots of leaflets and the maternity book at the end (after she printed out everything we were talking about).

morning all. :) what a lovely day and i am working from home. hehe. still stuck indoors as connected to the internet but will go out at lunch. can hear the birds outside make so much noise. :)

well i finally got a result yesterday. i rang up the antenatal guys again and they had the fax so when i was on the train last night, a midwife rang me and gave me an apointment for this Sunday at the hospital. i was shocked how quickly they got back to me!!! :rotfl: so i am off to see the MW on sunday at 1.30. yay..:T

then this morning i popped in to see the nurse to just get myself checked as last week was talking about a smell. well she said its best not to stick things inside loads esp with a miscarriage before and she said if i was ok now, to just wait and see, esp as that smell is gone. grrr. typical that happens. she said to keep an eye on it and can always go back as they open you up to take a swab dont they? so didnt do anything and came back home. :) i am not itchy at all, so if it was thrush i would be itchy right? the smell is not there so have to keep an eye on that. still having discharge which i guess is normal.

ok am not in the mood to work :0)

After the boys I had lots of infections and they had to keep taking swabs, in the end they just gave me the swab to put inside. Didn't have to open me up just place it gently so they could send it for testing. Not sure if they would let you do the same thing.

    Congrats on the MW appointment!

i am so squeemish about putting stuff inside, i wonder if i may have to end up doing that? the sweety nurse did say to just come back and she would take a swab. i hate these swabs and also smears. :(

been so hungry today. had leftover chinese and rice for lunch but after 2 hours, i was starving and had half a pot noodle and was naughty and had two packets of crisps. agghh not good.

well done on getting your MW appointment Rups32, had my tea early seeing it is just me (OH away working) although I wished I had been with him yesterday, as his brother called about his dad, the hospital feel that next time it is not worth treating his dad and we should just let him go, certain OH did not take it very well as he was very drunk when I spoke to him. :(
Fancy Tuna sandwiches and bacon, not sure if I would like them together or not:D;), not sure to be a piggy and have a second tea!! Sucking on ice pops which I am loving oh gawd help me please:rotfl:

okay need to go and let the budgies out before they cause trouble:rotfl:

Hello all! Scan went well, dated me at 13+3 (which is a bit ahead of my own dates but hey ho) so due date 26th November! Only one baby thankfully, was getting a bit worried about the possibility of twins :) Quite a bit of hopping about on screen, was quite surprised that I couldn't feel it moving about. Last night my tummy really began to pop out and I feel like I'm showing now, so good to be able to tell people before it's obvious...
I suppose it's time for me to head over to the next thread, hope to see you all there soon!
PS: St Mary's Manchester (where my scan was) also do the 'get a slip from machine' for your scan photos - £3 for one or £5 for two. Also it seems they do want a full bladder, I went with one in case but my notes were unclear (it said I'd be told, but I wasn't - figured it's easier to start with a full bladder and then create an empty one than the other way around...)

Hi all thought I would introduce and had a niggling question to ask you all.

Am 11wks pregnant with no 3, had a bleed at 5wks went for a scan could not see heartbeat and there was a bleed around the sac so had to go back the next week where thankfully despite me being convinced things had gone wrong I saw a heartbeat and the bleed had gone.

Took the kids to Disney last Monday and Monday night had another bleed and spotting on and off for the week returned home this Monday but picked up a cold Sunday :0(

With a shop purchased blood pressure machine have had my bo done while resting sleep all day yesterday as everytime I got up felt as if I would fall down my bp was ok yesterday and beats per min were 116 today bp is low and beats per min were 118 have tried googling to see if this is too high or not before I go rushing to the doctors as don't want to waste there time.

Was going to phone the early preg unit about the spotting but to be honest what can they do to help me I'm just resting as much as poss and I also have my 12 wk scan on this coming Monday.

Am I worrying over nothing ??

    Many thanks

Hello. Can I join? I got my BFP yesterday and am either 5 weeks exactly or 5+1, I've forgotten how to work it out! My LMP started April 18 anyway.

For those who don't know me, my history is I had a mc, then my DD, then have had three mcs since then, and am now Pg again, so a bit nervous and struggling to get any decent care out of my GP or MW.

GP has refused prescription of 5g folic acid which I understand can help after mc, and MW is saying she is too busy to see me weekly, despite research showing that regular TLC care drastically improves the live birth rate.

So I feel a bit up against it right now and 13 weeks feels a very long way away.

I'd love to get some early scans but we can;t afford private ones and so far GP and MW are not sympathetic.

Anyway, that's me, so hello :)

Congratulations again Skintchick :) I'm sorry you're midwife and doctor aren't being more sympathetic towards you situation. It's so unfair the way care varies across the NHS.

I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Brilliant day, it is also my birthday :) you could be brewing a Sagittarius. (or saggy hairy !!!! as OH says :D)

    Many thanks

I always work on the assumption that if in doubt call the midwife etc. It is easier to get seen during the week day than at weekends.

Hi skintchick, good to see you over here. Sorry your midwife and doctor are being unhelpful. Are you able to see another doctor at your surgery who may me more sympathetic due to your history?
