3pm. Ages away. I'm not busy enough to keep me occupied either.

Just go with it. The time will crawl by but it will pass. In a few short hours, you'll feel so much better. Just try to hang on to that.

I've heard conflicting advice about sizing in maternity wear. I was told that you just go with your usual size, after all, everyone puts on weight during pregnancy so if you're usually a 12, you'll just end up being a pregnant 12 and the clothes are cut accordingly.

However, when I was in H&M yesterday I saw a sign saying first trimester - usual size; second trimester - usual size or size up one; third trimester - size up one to two.

TBH, I think it's the only place that does this - everywhere else I've just got my normal size. You're going to have to need to try stuff on to be sure though. Which is a pain actually, because there's not that much available instore. It's all online.

wow weird. i am def not the same size now. my clothes are tight so not sure whether to go a size bigger or start buying maternity wear? so confusing. with jeans i think i might go a sieze bigger. it takes me ages to find a good pair anyway so this will be harder.. hmmm.... i keep wear leggings nowdays as they feel comfy. i have all these tops to wear but dont wear them.

rups, you can use a hairbobble to give you a bit of extra room in the waistband of your trousers, worked well for me, with a longish top to hide it!
I needed maternity jeans/leggings by 12 weeks, but I think it's because I'd been losing weight and had got rid of all size 18s but my size 16s were quite neat fitting, so didn't have much space to grow into. I've bought all size 16 maternity stuff so far and they seem bigger than normal 16s, more room on legs and bum, but much comfier around the waistline :)

Of course you're bigger! And if you were buying non-maternity wear you'd have to go up a size or so. But if you're buying specific maternity wear it should be cut differently to cater for your bump and bigger boobs/hips/thighs. Hence you can stay in your usual size because a maternity size 12 is bigger (and a different shape) to a normal size 12. Capiche?

I think with you, Rups, this wouldn't really help. You're very anxious, and rather than put your mind at rest, weekly scans would just get you right at it.
I was offered early reassurance scans however I said no because the scans just make me more anxious. I am having more scans than normal but any more and I would be a big ball of worry.
Hey, just wait until later on, when you don't just get pain when you cough or sneeze - you piss yourself too :D

I don't think I remember a time when I haven't had to cross my legs and tense up to sneeze or cough.:rotfl:

was going to suggest a hair bobble but think it has already been suggested. Not sure how to describe it but you link it on the button put the other end through the button hole and then round the button again. It adds a little bit of extra room in the early stages. It won't last too long but gives you the opportunity to wear normal clothes that little longer.

Oh Rups, you're so sweet. :D

You get a hair elastic (best to use one without bobbles) and thread it through the hole in your jeans. The other side you hook round the button. This gives you extra space around the waist and still allows you to wear your normal clothes comfortably.

If you like you can even get a bump band to cover the gap.
